Oh how silly of me not to see that. Anyway I like the color of your life rocks. It looks great even without corals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
My 5x2.5x2.5 Fowlr Tank

In your video it looks like the fishes are biting another fish or is it some kind of fish food? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Can anyone advice whether I can connect the Maxspect Gyre XF130 on a timer say 11pm to 6am, to save electricity. Is it okay for the corals (mainly zoas and softies)?
-
AM should sell the Brightwell Biofuel. Was there yesterday but Ah Heng from that shop informed that if I am keeping Zoas and softies, 10ppm for nitrate is okay. If I keep it lower than this, Zoas and some softies do not open so well. So I am keeping it on hold. But I am using the Bio-pellet to generate the necessary bacteria to maintain this nitrate level.

Try to find out why u have high nitrate. Is it over fed the fish, equipment not suitable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think that might explain your recent lost. I am trying out the BioFuel to reduce my months of 10ppm nitrates. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Like what Martian mentioned, lots of possibilities. How about sharing with us your parameters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

However, I think if you are having FOWLR, then the 3 stage Crystal Pro should serve well.
-
I used to have the 3 stage Crystal Pro too, but it is difficult to get TDS 0 reading after one to two months later. So with the new tank, I change to Zero RO/DI 5 stage is better. Moreover, I think the cartridge refill is cheaper to get from Madpetz. Just my input.
-
I got my Zero RO/DI from Madpetz too. I stayed in Pasir Ris HDB 7th floor and my gauge PSI reads at 45. Ken from Madpetz said is okay but nevertheless I still get the booster pump to speed things up instead of waiting long long for it to fill up the bucket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What type of fish did u get? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes I 2nd the idea of isolation the PT in isolation box and put a mirror besides the side wall of isolation box. I have got a mirror from IKEA. And able to paste to side wall by using blue tac. We r training the PT to behave each time New fishes are added Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

led lightset for 2.5ft tank
Kingking replied to Bryan Ng's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
I am using Maxspect Razor 160W. The stand just fitted nicely on my 2.5 ft tank as I have a wooden cover. -
If it is Mantis, at night you might get to hear TICK TICK sound, like he is attacking something. And you might experience some losses in fishes as he will attack them. Better to get rid of it ASAP.

By the way I am using LED lighting Maxspext Razor 130W Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Frozen food - thaw or straight dump in?
Kingking replied to ydolphin's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I don't think it is advisable as it may contaminate your water that give rise to algae bloom. But since it is self blended, might not be possible to put it under running water to thaw it. I usually does that for my mysis food. One cube of mysis in strainer under water, this reduces introducing nitrates and phosphate in your water. I think if you have a good system, of reducing nitrates and phosphate, then chances of algae bloom is lesser but I would not take the risk as my tank has all this corals in it. -
Hi, notice that you have an aiptasia in your zoas. I have a similar one in that green zoas too and I treat it with Joe's Juice. I think I have applied a little too much and quite a lot of the juice got to other part of the zoas besides the aiptasia. Luckily, the aiptasia is gone now and the zoas opened up after three days later. Thought you might like to know.

Aiptasia? Please help to id ..
Kingking replied to ydolphin's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Don't think it aiptasia. I just destroyed one Aiptasia in my star polyp using Joe's juice. Very effective. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
