  1. any idea if the feeding Golden Angel from CF still available?
  2. hi bro able to post any pic of the 70watt MH? might know some 1 who might be looking for 70watt MH. thanks.
  3. hmmm I smell liability! haha I jus hope my loved 1s don't chance upon this page.
  4. now summing up first impressions : Pros Good workmanship Tidy packaging Clear instruction manual in proper English Endless length of wires Quality parts Singapore 3-pin plug standard Neat wiring Quality electrical connections/components Sufficient isolation of electrical components away from water Slim-long barrel design coupled with c ock screw thread ensured maximum water exposure and contact time, when compared to a fat drum roll design. Click-on connector piping (very easy installation) leak-proof worthiness (so far so good will update further) Cons quality of screws can be better, as heads tends to blunt after few hard turn, but still manageable quality of plastics used can be thicker for durability not that it is presently insufficient the c ock screw thread could be thicker as there is still quite some space between the quartz sleeve and the thread hassle of unscrewing and screwing when compared to twist-&-turn bayonet design will update in good time when I install this bazooka about its performance. thanks to the good bros who helped me, and AquaFauna supplies for this product!
  5. and now.. .............. optical illusion or not.. I leave it to you..
  6. here are some pictures of the actual spiral unit taken out, and seen fitting very snuggly into the black tubing. overall, it's a good fit! however I really wish that the internal threading of the C oCk screw design could be thicker / deeper notice that the white pipe (c ock screw pipe has a line in the center? yeap that's the joints, bit rough, but hey it's only for hobbyist market, had been precision engineering, be prepared to fork out way more than this price man! ) some DIY ideas : to seal up with silicon gel or tape? but it may impede future maintenance (ie. debris trap inside etc). this is where the water will be going in and out. (the bigger hole is actually for the quartz sleeve, the water will be feed thru the smaller rectangular hole) and top marks for its good fitting! another reason why it may not be a good idea to use any sticky tape or silicon gel (added thickness) as there is barely enough gap at all between the white and black tubing.
  7. and here's the quartz sleeve that protects the UV bulb. this quartz sleeve is clear glass with no deform spots, the finish looks good and clear, and became clearer after wiping it with tissue, probably some factory oil stains. (p/s: any idea about its size yet? hmm scroll down later)
  8. the replacement of bulb is relatively easy, just unscrew the main cap and you're good to go! bulb used is a T8 UV bulb!
  9. the key and most important selling point about this UV light is its "C OC KScrew" design thread that is suppose to ensure higher exposure and contact time. so does it spiral? picture speaks a thousand words. endless spirals! prior to this purchase, had the fortune of 2 bros checking out another china brand 55 watt light with C oCK screw design, but it's nowhere close compared to this. (in fact it's another thing altogether!) While the threads are all smooth flowing and continuous, you can see that there's some break-line as the entire corkscrew barrel is made of 4 pcs of plastic which I will show later. btw.. this pic is taken with 20 seconds shutter speed and a torch light! (p/s: can you see what's at the end of this spiraling tunnel?)
  10. and the connectors are "click-on" type all tested to be leak-proof, very easy installation, the overall workmanship is very good as well, despite it's Made in China label. the fittings are snug
  11. FIRST credits goes to bro LAW for the pictures and handiwork @ disassembly this light unit first impressions, the picture of the UV light doesn't give anything away about its size..... the wires are seriously LOOOoooOOOOoNNNNnnnNGGGggGGG apx about 10meters long.
  12. hey bro Vincent and Clee123 ! yeap AT is indeed from LCK, 1 ever hungry fella! recently combating with ich, was alright for awhile, until I was away for few days and when I came back it is in a less ideal state, however with frequent feeding and more TLC it's improving a great deal. so.. bought a new toy today from AquaFauna Supplies to aid my war on ich and new tank syndrome Laguna Power Clear Max 5000 (55 Watt) below is a small preview of this big gun.
  13. hey bro! was still intending to visit HK marine LFS this December! so sad man.. anyway kudos for your effort in cleaning up ur sump! been always wanting to do tt. haha. any shops listed @ GBD still around? http://glassbox-design.com/2010/fish-street-hong-kong/
  14. think TP was right to fine me for being so blur the entire day. my utmost sincere apologies for the confusion guys.
  15. hey guys my BAD!! wrong sighting should have been rusty angelfish!
  16. yeah, think 1 pcs displaying but not in good health, and left about 2-3 pcs in her blue tub. left tt place at bout 4+ pm.. while i bought no fishes.. but a got an expensive item complements from our TP, 6 points + $150 for "Careless Driving" $%$%@$#%@% when entering TPE thru the slip road.
  17. false shepardi angelfish spotted at the shop in front of ah beng's . Condition varies.
  18. hi bro, ah beng has plenty to choose from, all sizes too.
  19. hey bro, sorry to hear that your 1 month of waiting yielded bad experience with your first fish. However, there might be many variables involved that led to the fish(es) dying, isolating the possible causes would help to determine the leading causes, or better yet, determine the casual effect (cause-&-effect relationship): 1) Fish : was already unhealthy during purchase (ie. internal parasite etc), ie a highly fragile fish (golden pygmy angel, ventralis etc), or even a diet-specific fish (ie. mandarin fish) 2) Water : did you mix marine-hobby salt and tap water directly and just wait for a month? what is the tank size volume(smaller tanks tend to be less forgiving, but larger volume when prep wrongly is equally devastating, such as super low SG) ? the ratio of salt-mix and water? type of water (ie. distilled, RO/DI or Tap? or NSW?), source of NSW (ie. from LFS, or self-collect? Did you do a massive water change after your 1 month cycling? 3) External factors : Traces of cleaning agent still left in the tank w/o realizing, surface oil, wrong type of sand use (ie. using fresh water type of sand), etc. Think a good number of bros here use both "Market-Prawn" method and dosing becteria, personally, i've used both at the same time, anyhow, just some questions you could work on hope it helps.
  20. hi bro, I agree with Comycus (and we don't know each other in case u wonder). It ain't that no 1 wants to reply the topics you posted, its for fear of giving wrong advise, etc, or jus simply wanting to see and learn from the topic u've posted. And agree with the rest like limsc, allantang, that there are different variables that affect the requirement for chiller temperature. Also a topic with substance (ie. sharing of knowledge/experiences etc) or with a meaningful goal/objective (ie. Finding out range of temperature for wht type of tank etc, or coral temperature issues etc), also making sure that there are no similar threads previously; would perhaps help to elicit more response than just posting a topic that ask open-ended questions for answers to no real questions. There are threads regarding temperature and UV light within SRC at various threads, u can do a search with the Search Box located on the top right hand corner of the screen, and like Comycus said, googling up for a question you have in mind will also give u better variety of answers and then you might wanna collate your findings with questions, and I'm sure in this way all can benefit. Pls don't get disheartened bro, i'm sure if you look up old threads you'll also see how some of the most active thread can also be dead suddenly. We don't get answers all the time from our questions here either. It's all a learning journey for us, this hobby is suppose to make us happy not miserable.
  21. wa liao eh.. those King and Queen show size angelfish looks like a Frisbee ready to be thrown!!!!!!!!!!
  22. interesting bars, reminds me of musical notes on scores, do ray mi ~~~ hope their pricing is reasonable. nonetheless nice fish!
  23. hi bro, think CFO mentioned already, that if what you see looks like the picture, then it's good thing. maybe u can take a handphone pic or go google a similar looking picture of what u see? normally quite a good amount of info will follow the pic too. hope it helps.
  24. cool, looking forward to it! now like bigbird says u're the one and only who has it!
