i hear a loud motor noise when submerged in water .. i had open up and look at it inside out.. no foreign particle found. operation wise is perfectly fine.. but the noise is too annoying. i can even hear it outside my house.. i had dismantle it and decided that i should send it back.. u said that u had experience it with Rio pumps before ? any idea what went wrong ? is it manufacturing defect ? is it suppose to run quietly ? i switch back to my old dymax now and it is completely silent.

I just bought a Rio hf14 .. It is making lots of noise .. Is it normal ? Or should I send it back to the shop ? Anyone using rio pump ?? Need help on the noise

yeap.. i'm not kidding.. maybe for one reason or another, the bag really broke.. maybe can wait for the TS to comment and see how. maybe what i have is of lower quality.

I had used coffee bags and the water seems to corrode the bags away after awhile ..

but my sump has got a compartment with ceremic rings only.. don think it is of any issue.. the only problem is removing one of the baffles to become a 2 compartment sump.

Google about it and by sing a razor , I should be able to get the baffle removed .. Anyone with experience regarding this ?

I'm having the idea of cutting away one baffle making my (3 compartment ) sump into a 2 compartment. Reason for doing this is because my skimmer can only fit into the last compartment and the fluctuating water level is causing my skim to be inconsistent. Is this really an issue or should i get a new sump or anyway to cut away one of the baffle ? Has anyone tried to remove the baffles and successful with it ?

I have a oversized Skimz FR for my 2ft cube tank.. Seeking opinion regarding this... If I'm running only 250ml of media (sorb 4 or rowaphos), would it be ok ? Though the recommended media to run in it is 500 to 1000ml.. But theoretically . As long as I have a feed pump suitable for this FR.. The lesser amount of media should not be an issue .. Am I right to say this? Lesser media also save cost for me .. Or anyone like to trade a smaller Skimz FR with me ?

ok .. Thanks lawrence .. Looks like I have got the "macro" additives already .. Probably I will Slowly get the rest of the additives.. Will get vitamin soon for those zoas that u gave me now I've got very low dkH (5dkH) and am trying to push up slowly.. Hopefully it is not Caused by Mg issues .. Later go home use ur test kit for Mg..
