I also have CL-280. I bought much less than yours. Also using jewel 2.5ft tank. But i have sump. Sump water out goes into the chiller and goes into main tank and overflowed back into my sump. Takes about 45 mins to cool down to 2deg and about 30 mins later starts again. The chiller is never switched off.
