  1. I don't think the resin can take so many liters per day. If need to fill up new tank, try to buy lots of distilled water. Or you still can use the tap water but mix with the chemical purifier or something to remove the chlorine. You need to cycle the tank for a month, anyway. To me, the DI filter system is good for topping up water or for water change only.
  2. I fill up 1.5 bucket per week for my weekly water change and top up and my tap water TDS is about 50-60. So can last quite long. For the carbon, depends on the TDS. If the I change the new resin but TDS is hovering around 5-10, then I'll change the carbon. I think the carbon can last longer than resin.
  3. I don't believe can last 3 months. It all depends on your usage and the degree of impurities in your tap water. Do take note that you there is capacity limit per day that the resin can take. To play safe, 1 bucket per day is ok.
  4. Better get one. Normally the tank maker does this. Ask him first.
  5. Should try grotech pallet food also. Also sure eat one... Can buy grotech at aquamarin, petmart, fresh& marine.. i think

  11. Pls monitor your LPS first. Make sure the water parameter is orite. I have thousands of worms in my tank without any problem. If you overfeed your fish, the worms population will be more. If you use medication to kill all the worms, be prepared to loose your corals and fishes too and the trouble to change the water as the worms die.
  12. Try not to keep mandrin if your tank size is too small. They need lots of pods to live. Don't put the skimmer if you want to make the refugium. The pods need all the nutrient waste as food to multiply quickly. Put the skimmer in the main tank itself. DSB need very fine sand and the denitrifying effect will kick in after 6months.
  13. Yes tue..kep it simple. For my sump, the overflow will go to filter wool to collect all the dirt. Then go to cheato farm or other nutrient export. Then some water is pumped into skimmer to remove the proteins, and the skimmer return is throw back in the sump. Then I have fluidised reactors for po4 and carbon GAC (now not in used) . Then I have a few kilos of (big version) biohome for denitrification purposes. Then some water is pumped into the chiller and returned back. Then water is pumped to the main tank.
  14. Quite pity for the fate of seahare. Always die of starvation, got suck into the wavemakers etc. Those of you are going to get one, pls think through on the environment that the seahare is going to be, not just to rid of algae.
  15. 2 times enough for me. My PBT always got stuck in the rocks and died.
  16. Cannot also coz return pipe flow is very constant. Unless the flow is not too fast.
