Thanks for the reply. So its the same address as Iwarna?

Sorry for the late reply. This is a splendid website and would be extremely helpful for a long time. It would be perfect if they advise how to sex fauna though.

Just want to know where is this ah beng located Many Thanks

Actually you should use Manual or "M" if possible. If "P" shows over expose, most likely both "S" and "A" will be over expose regardless what shuttle speed and aperture you use as they all use the same AI. Play with the combination and also tone down you ISO. Use spot metering if possible, meter on some mid tone corals, holding on the the metering button, focus on the whole tank to take a shot. Likely your whiter parts will still be over expose a little, but at least your darker parts of the tank will show.

Sounds interesting!

Happy to share

Don't know where to post this. I figured most members will be searching for a timer when setting up a tank. Went Ikea Tampines today. They are selling power timer at 2 for $9.90 Only thing is that the timers can only be set at 30 mins interval.

I read Shell V-Power are not affected by the RM20 rule few days ago.

Can DIY mah.... get Ket to do loh... haha

Awesome tank!!! About the fan, I think it will make more sense to have a fan that will bring in cool air (general ventilation) or bring out hot air (exhaust ventilation), though I will usually recommend having both. Circulating hot air from the chiller with in the cabinet doesn't help leh.....

Hi bro, do you mean 3x2x2 tank + sump? What's the age? How about cabinet? Where is the collection location? I am keen and looking forward to your pictures
-
No need kua..... I am just having a poor man's tank :paiseh:
-
I guess so (since they look like trevally and are yellow in color ) Yea, adding a tither fish usually help them school (until they find the tither fish not a threat).
-
Just curious, so when using black sand, is the cloudiness black too?
-
I was at Iwarna last night and saw a school of yellow color "trevally looking" fish. They school pretty nice together. You can say that again, the Tomato clowns are the only clowns that enjoy attacking my UW camera in my diving days.
-
erm... I didn't really see.... It came in a sealed bucket and 2 packets of white sand inside. Which is that?
-
Doing all these alone. Hence no photos OK, OK, I admit, this is a experiment tank. The aesthetic is horrible with silicons running everywhere. Let's not insult the hobby with my pictures.

I added live sand from Iwarna, follow by dead rocks and NSW from Iwarna. Water reasonably clear after 10 mins or so. Also take note that I did not run any mechanical filter currently. If you are pumping in water via pipe, cut a corner of the bag and tie it to the outflow. Water should flow out from the main opening of the plastic bag, turn on the tap slowly. Unlike marine tank, planted tanks have a big layer of fertilizers that we do not want to expose to water directly and our gravels could be as thin as 1-2 cm. Using plastic bag method is very common among the planted community.

Thanks guys, manage to grab a pack from AM! My tank is officially wet now
-
Under estimate the size of my tank.... bought only 4 packet of NSW from Iwarna. Need another packet or so. I think they are close now as I can't reach them on 6583 3536. Anyone knows any place sell NSW near AMK? Thanks a million!

Excellent!!! These has helped me a lot. Thanks for the effort. BTW, are there web sites that identify different kind of corals, its habitat and its requirements? Thanks again!

Hi neighbour, Thanks for the nice gesture. I do see your point on live sand covering live rocks, and I admit I haven't really read up on what's really living on the rocks. If it is only the bacterias that take care of Ammonia and Nitrite, then I guess the lost is not really that significant and Micro organism should be able to remigrate themself (I hope...lol). I would prefer to test for leakage using tap water as I do not want to wake up with a floor full of salty water. Testing the flow sounds interesting and definitely something I haven't thought about. End of the day, we paid for the live sand, live rock and "NSW" so as to cut short the cycling process, adding key bacterias which would usually take months to appear in a brand new tank. AFAIK, cycling is constant process and is forever changing, you can never leave a tank there for 2 months and proclaim it cycled. Every new fauna added, died, changes in water chemistry, feeding, food type... etc adds to the process everyday. Moreover, this bacterias need "food" to stay alive too. If there are not enough "food", they will simply die of and create more "waste" to the water after which the system will try to re-balance again. This is also why even in very stable tanks, dumping in large amount of faunas will normally result in high casualty, mainly due to the spike of Ammonia and Nitrite which the tank's system are not catered for (not referring to tanks with high tech toys). I believe the key to zero casualty (for poor man like me) is adding LS at a very slow pace. Thanks for sharing your wonderful thread again and really hope to see your tank soon. I can't help with marine stuff but maybe help shoot your tank if needed since you should stay somewhere near me.

Wow, that should be very near my place.... I stay Blk 636...

Probably not so soon.
