  1. While eagerly awaiting my new tank to arrive on 2nd March, my shopping spree just continued. Finally decided on the skimmer and just got a Bubble Magus Nac 5.5 as the main "cleaning agent" for my tank. Also gotten 2 pack of Caribbean Sea Indo Pacific Black live sand as my substrate top up with a small pail of A.R.M aragonite media for the boast of calcium on my display tank. For scaping wise, i have also purchased one big bag of dead rock to get myself all ready. Reason for using dead rock is that i have the ability to choose what i want in my tank and not getting constant shock of seeing crabs, sponge or even bristle worm. More or less in terms of equipment i'm all set just have to wait for my tank to come and all the setup will begin.
  2. Just came across this and think that its really good read for rockscaping. Enjoy guys cheers! http://fish-etc.com/aquascaping-main/on-the-rocks-how-to-build-a-saltwater-reefscape
  3. Yeah gotta admit radion is really nice. Actually before looking at razor and AI i'm looking at radion and also orphek. But from some website i noticed they have mentioned about the red led in radion which somehow will encourage algae growth. Nevertheless its another quality product in market now.
  4. I have been doing lots of reading online. Thinking of fully utilise LED only, guess just have to trail and error to get the best result. Reason for making a change from T5 is due to the fact of replacing the tube every 6 months or so kinda troublesome to me and also the heat produce wish i don't really fancy. I have gotten myself a set of Maxspect Razor for my 2 feet tank but kinda tempted to buy a set of AI Vega as i have personally seen the light set and kinda impressed by it.
  5. Very good info bro appreciate it. Btw i'm also running rowa and bio pellet on my sump. Guess i will keep to a skimmer not that "oversize" in terms of capacity. You just gave me another question to ponder about .
  6. Thanks a lot for the info bro. Am thinking of over skim because I thought the "cleaner" the water, the better for sps. Sent from my PadFone 2 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Get a good quality clown from LFS. I had my true perc from CF till now already 4 years old still going strong. Also try your best to maintain good quality of water in order to prevent outbreak.
  8. Bro if you intend to keep SPS, better be careful with your yellow clown gobies,
  9. Yeah bro skimz is a really good brand for skimmer. But based on the specification i gotten online, this skimmer have a capability for 133-320 gallon. I'm thinking is it really way too much overkill for my tank which i suppose is only 60 gallon at most. Nevertheless many thanks for your kind advise.
  10. Should be fine with any options as long as its a good skimmer that can perform. Thanks!
  11. but do you think its sufficient for your old 24G? as i was thinking of doing overskim to have "cleaner" water.
  12. Hi all guru out there, i'm looking at getting a skimmer for my 2x2x1.5 tank. I'm intending to keep SPS for this tank, so would like to check with guru out here what can i consider with a budget of around $300. Thanks in advance.

  19. While preparing my own rock and waiting for my new tank to arrive, i received this new toy that i have ordered few days ago. Auto top up device.
  20. Yes you may just do water change can already. It all breaks down to what type of fish you are keeping also. My 3x2x2 have been running one year without skimmer and also very minimal water change which i'm guilty of. Don't follow my bad example, so i making amendment to my wrong doing by setting up a new tank for my lovely creature who have been with me for more than 4 years haha. But if you ask me, i will still recommending you having skimmer =)
  21. Just to make sure everything die lor. I believe eventually the rock will turn people after I cook it with some live rock. I doesn't wanna give any chance for pest anymore very saddening to see them. Sent from my PadFone 2 using Tapatalk 2
