Wow so we have some hidden treasure under our muddy water? -
There used to be a common myth that with iodine and actinic light it will boast your coralline algae growth.

Alternatively you could get the red bamboo from CF less than 1 green note. Tangs just can't resist that from my experience. -
+1 on this method as we got bro having success with this haha.

Help! Newbie put fish in tank without cycling!
erikokelf replied to Henry Shao's topic in General Reefkeeping_
Bro i really think you should keep all your livestock in a safe place before you can provide them with a proper home. We should start from basic before proceeding. Just for example will we be moving into our new home when it's still under construction? Patience is the key to success for this hobby. Before i started this hobby, i spend around half a year reading for all the information required before i attempt to ensure it to be a success and not harming anything in the process. Understand the urge of seeing fishes swimming around your tank which many of us would have went through when we started initially. But i will deem this as selfish because their lives is at stake while for us is just about money which i really don't think it's fair for them. I suggest hosting them back at LFS or sell them away before you get your tank properly cycled. During this one month or so period while waiting nitrogen cycle to complete, do some research about requirement of every individual livestock that you fancy. By doing so you have not only gain more knowledge and you'll be saving money also. Be a responsible reefer as every lives counts. Feel free to post us any question in doubt, I'm certain there are many helpful bro's out here whom will be willing to assist. Good luck! -
Up for a nice bro

There are simply too many "funny" characters around. Sad to see that your initial project comes to a haul, but it's wait for your next one to create history in Singapore

Hi guys, I'm looking at purchasing some petroleum jelly to fill up the tiny air pockets on my piping that is creating micro bubble back to my display tank. Appreciate if bro's out here could advise me on the type and brand if you have use before to be on the safe side to my occupant. Thanks in advance

Been quite sometime since i last updated my thread as i have nothing much in additional. But nevertheless i have fully completed my cycling and added a new YT in with some zoas (mainly from bro Firestarter) laying on the floor for the mean time. Also looking into buying a Artica 1/10 coming June as due to budget constrain. Some bros out here would know that i have been battling micro bubble for quite sometime, so for the mean time i will wait for nature to do the work of filling up the gap in the pipe with dirt before i start adding anything in it. Currently there isn't much algae on my tank probably due to the very little life stock inside my tank only some very thin layer of brown algae on the glass which i have to clean up only every week or so. I'm dosing kalkwasser via a DIY dripper on a daily basis (night) hoping that it will raise my PH of 7.5 now and also to raise my calcium level to encourage coralline algae. In order to not overdose, i have been measuring my PH on a daily basis using my PH pen. Special thanks to bro Gouldian for giving and suggesting using of kalkwasser to me and also helping me rectify the root cause of my micro bubble issue. Pic below is the current colour of my rock still very white, lets see if the kalkwasser can do magic to my rock in due time

Guys i think it will be better for these things to be taken on private or on another different channel rather than on this bro sales threads. Anyway up for your sales

Bro for me i also bought dead rock from ah beng but i'm quite kiasu. I soak the dead rock inside RODI water for about 2 days before i let it air dry for about 1 week before using it. Guess by doing so all pest should be gone as i believe thats the main reason for using dead rock.
