I added dry fish food..not really in pellet form. I just add in a tiny bit. Do you suggest that i should add in more of it into the tank. Shrimps are qutie during this period..haha..

Hi, I just measure the water parameter just now (5th day). GH: 180 ppm (mg/L) KH: 180 ppm (mg/L) pH: 8 NO2: 0 ppm (mg/L) NO3: 20 ppm (mg/L) Ammonia:0 ppm (mg/L) First day: I put live sand, live rock into the tank. Using the NSW from LSF. Second day: I have added fish food into the tank. The ammonia level doesn't look normal as i expected. I thought there will be a increase in ammonia. Any advise on this situation? Thanks.

Actually, i plan to mix around 12l of salt mix and leave the rest in the jerry can. I think it can last me for around 1 month +... by the time, all the salt particules should have dissolve. Which mean i don't really need to air pump? Correct me if i am wrong.

Hi, Do i need to put air pump if i mix the salt myself? I am just cusious since the NSW needs air pump? Thanks in advanced.

How long can the mix salt water last? I mean without any air pump in it. I am kind of lazy. Instead of mixing the salt water every week, i will make a big pail of it and pour into the Jerry Cans. Anyway, does anyone know where can i get a Jerry can. Around 8- 10 litres type

Haha.. i just added the fish food instead of using market prawn. CNY is coming, doesn't want the house to be smelly. Anyway, i went to AM yesterday to get the items. They are open even during Chinese New Year.

Thanks for the reply guys, I didn't know that the salt mix is so expensive. Actually, i am thinking to mix the salt and fill up the Jerry can i have. Is it a good idea? Also, the NSW i got from AM, do you think i should pour it away since it can last for 2-3 days? If i use distilled water, do i still need to add in the anti-clorine liquad?

Haha.. Should be AM.. One more question, i just read that the NSW from the LFS can only last for few days? Unless i connect it with a air pump. And you can't seal it with the cover because there will be any oxygen in it, is that true? I just get one jerry can of NSW from the shop?

I will out properly getting the distilled water since it is a pico tank...haha..

Hi guys, Thanks for the fast reply. Just wondering, when do i need to test for Ammonia, No2 and No3? I just start cyclying yesterday night. Anyway, i got the NSW from AQ and purchased the live sand from AQ as well. There are two pieces of live rock in it. i added one dose of bacteria as well. But i yet to add in the fish food. Most properly doing it tonight when i reach home. Anything else i miss out?

Hi, I am in the process of cycyling my pico tank. If the water evoporate, should i use distilled water or salt water i got from the LSF? Do i have to change the water weekly while the cycyling is ongoing? Should i change the water using the NSW from the LSF? Does mineral water from the supermarket consider distilled water? Thank Bro, I agree with you that IQ3 quite small for any fishes. Wanted a small tank for my living room only. Have you try with any Nano Tank or Pico tank before? What kind of LS did you have inside your tank? Still finding the LS to put inside my IQ3...Hahah

Hi , I have one more newbie question. If i change 10-20% of water in the tank, can i use to Nutri Seawater i got it from AQ to replace it or..? Because i am worried about the amount salt in the water might do more harm than good for the LS and Rocks.

Thank for the advise. Really appreciate it. I will follow the advise. My tank is pico (IQ3) Tank. Got a tube worm and live rock from AM. I wanted to get the black live sand but i realise that the amount of live sand inside is too much for my tiny pico tank. I did wash up for the normal sand which i got it from AQ as well. Any LS to recommend? I wanted to get a 12 Gallon but i think due to the small constrain.

Hi all, Just to find out more about recycling mention in this forum. If I got the water, live rock and LS from a LFS, do i still need to recycle? FYI: The water, live rocks and LS all come from a same shop and same tank. Jai
