no problem bro. hey, keep me posted on your sea horse tank ... my GF interested, so may eventually try

hey bro whq, hope my inputs help. just drop me a message anytime. yes RD sells them, as of last week they still do have some stocks, easily about 4 i think. again key points to note IMO : 1) 2 degrees is what to expect as typical, 4 degrees is possible. depends on your tank size, and your ambient temperature. your nano size should be ok. 2) one thing to note is I hardly saw the impact of using this almost 24/7 in the PUB bills 3) i'd opt for HOB installation (which is what i did) than bulkhead. it is easier to cool a small volume of water with some decent flowrate than trying to cool the whole tank volume. with some added media in the HOB (like biopellets), also helps to maintain the cool temperature eventually. 4) it is quiet ... not whisper quiet, but yes quiet, otherwise my GF will complain . i hear the waves on the surface trickling more than the fan noise. 5) the green LED at the back acts as a moonlight for the tank (hehe, yup, GREEN !) i don't have any moonlight anyway, so there you go ... 6) easy maintenance - once a week, i'd clean the HOB. just unplug, and bring the whole thing to wash. for now, i have it turned off during aircon days / nights, planning to get a timer for this. i don't have the temp controller. coz if i don't, i've measured the tank to go down as much as 23-24 deg ... waaay too cold. other than the aircon cooling the water, the heatsink gets cooler as well, thus i get more effective heat exchange between it and the chip. overall, for me the ice probe is -

Thanks all bros for your replies. Yeah I'll probably try to remove it later. Really a lot of web now bothering my zoas.
-
thanks. but it's worst than spidey ... i just saw it now, you know like those silk worms ... the mouth was out and i could see strings of the web thingy coming out forming strings, then when it lets'go, the strings attaches to anything - zoas, rock ... eventually looking like cob webs !

Hi, anyone can pls ID ? time to time i see something like a string of web or line of mucus in different areas of the LRs and corals, then i saw it coming out of this. this "cocoon" is stuck on LR, very hard, and something like a worm sticks it's head out (with antenna), when bothered, you could see it go back inside the cocoon and until totally gone (in the LR?). Just want to know if this is a pest, but sure releasing a lot of that web thngy. Sorry for the pic, just take quick snap from iphone. thanks.

Setting up of a Jellyfish Aquarium

they do ? since when ? -
This is a very good summary, concise and clear bro !

if it's moving around then means it's not happy (stressed), whether it would be your parameters / lighting / water flow. just be careful as it might sting other corals in doing so. but then again you said it's still on a rock, and feeding then should be ok. you may try to relocate the rock it is attached on (my 2 cents, if possible try not to remove it from the rock, call it a "security blanket" if it's still attached to it. once you've damaged the foot (tear), it may lead to it's eventual death. what are you feeding ? btw, how does the mouth look like ? is it swollen, or opened up ? at times they do close up like a peach with some tentacles still out, or even none. but they'd open up again in no time. the white string, is it like mucus ? for now, i'd recommend to just leave it (or like i said, move the rock). unless you see it dying (i hope not) like start to disintegrate, then you have to get it out of there. dying anemone = potential crash. good luck.

pic ?

+ 1 aircon room or just use fan. the ice probe depends on your ambient temp. easily can drop 2-3 deg from my experience for your pico. i don't have the temp controller, and if i leave it running, with airconditioning on as well, it drops the temp even to 4-5 deg (which is too low already) on my nano.

hey bro, it may really take time, or may even never happen at all, so this needs your patience. some do the guiding - when resting or sleeping at night, try guiding the clown towards the anemone. there are those who recommended putting a fake clown (those plastic food clips) and put it beside the anemone to give the clown an idea. for my case, i used technology my clown pair has not been giving much attention to my BTA for about a month, so what i tried was i played a video from youtube of a clown hosting a BTA on my iphone and just held that against the glass. my clowns would keep on "watching the video", coming a little closer at times. did this once a day for about a week. by then, one of the clowns started to test, like "smelling" the BTA tentacles. few days later sticking his face into it. then in a week, already swimming in the tentacles like crazy with a new playmate. the second clown took a little longer, but also started hosting about another week later. good luck ! it's just fun to watch this very special symbiotic relationship that developed.

clean water is always good. call it "beneficial", but in general for some yeah maybe not necessary.

so i see jacky ... and 4th from left ray ... that's it !
-
nice, simple, and mean set-up you got there bino !
-
best to have a mature tank with lots of pods, unless you got a proven pellet-eating one. otherwise as jacky said, try to add live or arctic (preserved) ones. and yes, check his tummy, if it's sunken, maybe offer to some other reefer with lots of pods willing to take to adopt. good luck.
