  1. Haha, yeah bro, really like a desktop. was actually considering if i would mount another one more like bro fuel's, but for now should be sufficient i guess.
  2. Thanks Bro for the advise. yup that's what i thought also, since the left side have a ledge which i can easily mount a flat rock. after a couple of days getting bro peter's zoas and mini-blastos, will see what's next
  3. Just one last thing to note about the PAR38, is the shimmering effect, quite nice and realistic (as when your in the reefs) i could say. For now since i'm only using 1 lamp, there are some darker areas specially at the back, but for now it's still ok i guess. The bulb indeed gets hot, but i could still hold the heatsink fins though. Here's a close-up. You could see the shimmering against the wall, which can also be seen in the sandbed and rocks.
  4. Here's some pics on my still under-stocked tank. I've quarantined my bubble (previous crach victim) and hopefully it recovers well soon.
  5. Here's how the adjustments are. What i've done for fear of eventually the bulb sinking down and dip on the water is to offset it so it is on top of the front corner of the tank (though after tightening the locks, seems not dipping at all). If needed to access, the clamp mount on the adjacent table allows me to swing the lamp towards the back wall with ease.
  6. Latest update ... installed PAR38 last night. My current stocks accepted it well, not as bright as the maxspect 110w, but enough i would say. GF also likes it better The positive things on this are it gives me more control on positioning the light (the bulb is indeed heavy), luckily it fit well on my existing philips pantograf desk lamp. Here's current FTS.
  7. Ok, guess just have to do WCs. yup, got the same PAR38 from Nanocustoms, using just one 12k now.
  8. Thank again bro, and nice meeting you and your wife. Ankle is healing, slowly ... Here's a pic of the lamp i used (as mentioned this is existing lamp i have, just lucky that i could remove the head and plug in the PAR38 ...) i put some details about the fixture. This is also clamped in the adjacent computer table. The ikea tertial should also be ok already, since it seems sturdy and also not expensive. On my fear of it dropping directly in the tank (though so far hasn't moved down one bit), i offset the lamp head to be just on top of one of the corners, so if it drops down, it goes smack on the tank (won't drop that strong anyway if ever). Just had to make sure i tighten the locks real hard. When not in use i can easily swing the lamp away from the tank towards the back wall.
  9. So bro fuel, u also plan to disguise the filter/skimmer similar to the tank in glassbox ? That was a cool idea
