is an algae. if you like can can just leave it alone as the colour is quite nice but it also means that you have additional nutrients in the water for it to grow.

Tempted to start adding live stock

Remove the unconsume food after feeding. Try to feed it mysis, new fish normally will be more willing to take fresh food then pellet. Once they take fresh food then slowly introduce them to pellet. Have u check your PO4 and NO3? Try to keep it low and the red slim should dissappear slowly. Siphoning of the red slim during WC will help also. -

Don't think it removed PO4 and silicate which are one of the nutrients that fuels the growth of algaes. How can prime remove the impurities and other metals in the water when there are not filtering or tansporting media for all the nonsense in our tap water. For FOWL you can still do this but if it is SPS tank, not possible unless you want to have macro algae display tank. Happy reefing

Losing battle with algea since tank crash
Tian85 replied to nicreef's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
your low nutrient is due to the HA as it is taking up all the nutrient, therefor not showing up on your test kit. Remove the HA and siphon the red algae during WC. Try to run phosphate remover media and regular water change with RO/DI water to reduce the nutrient. Happy Reefing! -
Aiptasia anemones with hot water
Tian85 replied to rainmalawi's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
if you are able to remove the rocks i think it is better to remove and nuke it to eradicate the aiptasia. Casue if the aiptasia is not killed properly or some part manage to tear and spread to other rocks, then it will become a nightmare. IMO, not worth to save coraline and put your tank at risk. Happy Reefing! -
Thanks for sharing. Any reefer with LED can share their lighting schedule so we can use it as a reference. Mazarra, razor, radion and all LED user's are welcome to share!
