  4. If budget is yr contraint, then i would suggest that u read up more first, save up some $$$ and get the best u can get to prevent the hassle of further upgrading. This is one common reefers made, like me.... wat lighting to get deoend on wat kind of corals u want to keep...
  5. Very subjective, the last compartment is for holding area for evaporated water(water level fall during evaporation) but for me, I'm not worried by the pump's size , skimmer's size etc. if u're housing yr skimmer inside the sump, take the measurement first b4 making the sump
  6. For me, it's becos of my cabinet size constraint and that's why all my equipment are housing outside the cabinet
  7. Not so soon...completing the setup by this week and follow by two mths of cycling period. Re u using H&S skimmer too?
  8. errr....I think Cookiemonster is using that. maybe u can check with him.
  9. errr....I think Cookiemonster is using that. maybe u can check with him.
  10. U 're right! The water flow rate coming in do not play a critical role in this model. Correct me if I'm wrong..fellow H&S users
  11. H&S skimmer operates differently, conventional skimmer draws the water in thru the pump as such, water pass thru and out of the channel cylinder in a faster manner. AS for H&S, the pump is attached to the cylinder to prolong water catchment inside the cylinder for better skimmer.
  12. Hi SharkBait, U're right! All my equipment are running separately on its own. AS to Pospeh's query, this is not my first tank,
  13. As pointed, T-jointed directly flow to the skimmer
  14. No , there is a T-jointed solely for down flow water directly into the skimmer. As for the Chiller, there will be a another return pump drawing water in straight into the main tank. The skimmer u see is a H&S Skimmer. here, adapting pumpless concept inside my sump to miniature heat exchange
  15. Finally, after some carefully planning..take abt 1 week to do up the internal pipings.This is how it looks like Tank spec: 3 x 2.5 X 2 Sump : 2 X 1.5 X 1.5 Equipment: Eheim 1260 for return pump Haliea 1/2 hp H&S Skimmer Lighting : 1 X 150w MH 2 X 25w Blue Top view
  16. To all interested parties, this is a brand new sump and selling @ $50
