It might be worth a shot sourcing for a heatsink (heavy) and maybe the driver locally. I'm not sure about the drivers, but for 3 watt LEDS there is a store in the basement. 1 watt LEDs cost $5 each (no blue). I didn't ask for the price of the 3 watt LEDs after that.. didn't see blue too. I saw 4 watt LEDs at ikea for around 15 but they come at 2700 kelvins cheers

Nope they're controlled with 2 separate drivers. I've got 2 drivers.. one for white one for blue. Measure directly using the 2 wires leading out from the driver? Ok I'll do that tomorrow (some soldering involved). thanks so much for your help

nope.. don't have a voltometer (or whatever it is called) If I get one what should I test for? I'm quite lost. The LEDs are similar in brightness (when they are blinking) and the wires look ok, i.e. no stray strands.

need help from LED gurus! my blue string just went out. I turned all the lights off and turned it on again. The white would light up while the blue would (dimly) flash on and off fading in intensity until it goes out. Whats wrong?

nope the tank is not level. the room itself is not level.. why do you ask? lol anyway to anyone who is wondering, I've moved the tank to the right and now the light coverage for the left side of the tank is much better.

Thank you. Is the silicon needed even if the lights are about one feet above the tank? Some updates: The heatsink is around room temperature, about the same temperature (by touch) as the wooden table top. The color in this picture is closer to that in real life

In real life the tank is much bluer, and when only the royal blue/UV string is turned on the colors really popped.
