  1. i read a similar case here too. I mean in this forum. Is because of same batch or too strong flow?
  2. I keep LPS. I use the following 2x 150 watts Arcadia and 2 x 30 watts FL here are simple LPS
  3. i have a 20 gallon tank setup using an existing eheim 2215, seio M620 and 1 set of Aquaz 24watts x 2 (blue pro and actinitc 03) No skimmer now Based on past experience, i kept discosomas, octopus, hammers, scolymia. All these corals after some time turns brown in colour. My basic equipment then was a needlewheel skimmer, eheim 2215, Seio m820 and same set of lightings. Tank was 24x 18(H)x 12 My question: since i have a 210 gallon tank running of MH, chiller, aquamedic shorty2 skimmer, etc. I want a low investment setup using basically my existing equipment. What types of corals i have keep just using actinitcs (either 2 or 1 of the actinics)? Instead of buying new corals to be placed into the 20 gallon. i was thinking to remove some of the corals from my 210 gallon tank to avoid future or possibly chemical warfare. I am considering: discosomas, hammers, octopus. (all existing) Currently all of them are regaining their orginal color after being place in the 210 gallon using 2 x 150 watts Arcadia 14000k and 2 x30 watts FL. corals are placed under shaded areas, except the LPS which are indirectly receieving the light. Pls help
  4. i have hammers, anchors and octopus very near each other. nothing seems to suggest stinging. (yet if there is...ahahahah)
  5. looks so familiar. Sentosa island?
  6. Coralline algae prefers to grow at lower lighting areas compared to bright lightings.
  7. usually in the nature, if the anemones are not attended by clowns, within a day they are eaten by butterfly fish. similarily, clowns host in anemone to receive similar protection from predator fish. it is sygnery that works. however in capavity, clowns DO NOT need anemones and vice versa. More reading can be done by searching "field guide to anemones". Nevertheless, if more experienced reefers here do not recommend butterfly due to the poor survival rate, perhaps we should leave it at the sea.
  8. no not following, spying, tailing, monitoring. hahahaa me joined forum 1st mah...u later....u followed me instead. hahaha
  9. Wow, bro u ask how many forums on this? d forums i also see this. hahaha getting this best of how many worlds?
  10. wow, 30 degrees, i will not consider keeping corals.
  11. had a seio 820 in my 2ft, had to blow against the glass and reduce it. had 2 seio 620 in the same 2ft, without sand, ok, but with sand, cannot now 1 seio 620
  12. for me, i think having more actinic lights seems to be better.
  13. it is great pity, that these corals do not reach the shores of Mal
  14. observe the LR carefully, if u notice some polyps, buttons there, perhaps it would be better swtich on for period of time. U do want it live after all, right?

  17. they usually need care similar to sps. bright lights good flow. some need substrates other need LR. no powerheads and dun introduce one until ur tank has completed cycle there is a lot of articles on this. u need to know the odds of keeping them and read and research more.
  18. If my doughnut had various colors now under MH is brown but under actinics there is some green stripes. will it be red again?
  19. my experience: when setup up my tank. i left the LR in the boxes. That nite i could not sleep, i keep hearing tick tat....i tot it was my fridge (i just move in). I came closer, noise stops. Next morning, i saw those shrimps. See 1 kill 1. At that time did not know good or bad...later talk to Deep_end and also recommend Octopus. But luckily no more and no need to introduce Octopus.
