  1. Very soon the 1hp chiller would be yours... Haha....
  2. Just passed 3rd week and seeing some diatoms on the sump tank glass. Added algagen pods from LCK since mid last week. Seeing them on the sump tank glass but yet to seen in my main tank. The main tank remains clean which likely due to lighting system (DIY LED) still not commence...
  3. Bought one last week when the tisbe pods landed at LCK...
  4. I dont think Ken has it. You may want to try C328 at Clementi or Nanyang Aquarium at Jalan Kayu. This kind of soft hose T-joint easily found in freshwater LFS.
  5. Cycling process has commenced coming to 2 weeks. Added chaeto into sump tank for kicking start a refigium compartment.
  6. Depend on budget, they uses bridgelux or cree for premium products and Taiwan brand for low cost.
  7. Hi bro. I can't remember the total cost as it was quite some time ago.
  8. You need to calculate the weight of your tank so to choose the right profile else may cause disaster. You also need to get the profile accessories.
  9. I know a supplier from china has the same outlook of this. He is also one of the source which i get the leds for my DIY light set. Price wise about the same. Probably the diff is the shipping cost which depends on the items weight etc.
  10. Hi Sherman. The price is per pc length at 20ft. The shop at Ubi sell and cut accoring to your measurement. Trade-off, they don't sell the accessories. Teck Cheong at King George Ave sell all sorts of profile plus accessories. Limitation is the minimal length they cut for you is 4ft ( if I'm not mistaken ). Another shop in Frontier Buidling, Ubi name Prestech has all the require where you need to wait for them to cut etc. Price not much diff.
  11. Not available in SG. Did search before, even sg website showing it but when queries, responded that is not available here.
  12. I'm now also deciding additional factor which is using thinner acrylic with bracing. Looking at 14mm and considering how much price diff since i have a quote from dama on the 18mm.
  13. Hi James. Thanks for your comments. My initial planned is to use braceless but still worried with 18mm.
  14. Please feel free to comments on the acrylic thickness as i may be wrong in choosiing the thickness.
  15. Online calculation showing a 3/8" thickness would be good and another site showing 14mm is good. I'm using thicker just in case. Of course the cost of material would be much higher. I already have a budgetary quote for the 18mm thickness.
  16. Hi there. Just some thoughts which I'm still considering. Looking at DIY a 3x2x1.5 Acrylic Tank. Based on this dimension, considering using 18mm thickness material. Still at preliminary stage now as calculating the acrylic thickness and also the time as now my newly setup tank under cycling process. If to go with it, this will be the next project that i'm going into aside from other home DIY projects which i have designed with autocad and has not excecute it. Another major factor to consider is the family commitment which i can't neglect.
  17. Just to updates. Compressor tested that kicks in when needed. Sump tank water changed and resume my cycling process....
  18. Is time to resume my cycling process after replace the sump tank water with a fresh one since presently is contaminated with R22 refrigerant.
  19. Hi James bro. Thanks. Seeing the stuff completed with obstacles does make it worth spending effort on it. Of course downside is when things turn too bad untill we have to redo, that is the point everyone would wonder why started it at the 1st place.
  20. Finally managed to get the drop-in coil setup without further gas leak. Root cause of the leaking was due to lousy skills on tube flaring which didnt do visual check prior in joining it. Lesson learned and improve on the minor skills checks...
  21. Yes. R22 Refrigerant. Everything halt and wait for the next available time to redo the joint.
  22. Just to add, the titanium drop-in coil ( i got it from Taobao ) which about 1/2 price cheaper comparing with getting in Singapore. This is also one of the reefer whom has purchased recommend to me.
  23. NSW cycling process on-hold due to titanium coil join with the copper pipe has minor leaks during the cooling testing. Now need to clear and clean the sump tank before resume.
  24. Hi bro James72. I have just started a new tank which most of the things are DIY except the tank. In this setup, I'm using drop-in coil instead of chiller. Titanium coil + air con spare parts ( copper pipe, etc ) --> You can get from Teck Hoe at Jalan Geylang ( one of the cheapest i can find ) For the controller --> From Sim Lim Tower ( basement shop ) For the air con installation --> I do my own piping and trunking, plus topping up my own refrigerant gas.
