  1. I'm guessing he'd share alot more about keeping freshwater fish rather than marine ones? Just a guess
  2. Hey thanks all you guys for your replies.. but one question I've been thinking as I read thru the replies is... 'So are there any specific tuition agencies that any of you would recommend?' Those that take less of my money or good and flexible to work with? Thanks And about teaching english.. I kinda feel that I am only good enough to teach english because I'm not familiar with today's primary school syllabus of science and math (specific methods they need to use to solve a word problem, topics in science in diff seasons) etc.. scared teach wrong thing.. That's why.. But you guys really got a point about the difficulties of teaching languages, though..
  3. Bring back memories of my sec sch days..
  4. Hey there, guys.. Well recently due to service injury I've been posted to an 8 - 5 vocation. Still getting used to the new job and yes I do feel happy in a stay out unit (but the injuries I went thru are long term ones and I really suffered pain during the peak season of my injuries). But beyond that old history, thing is that now since I'm in a stay out unit, I was thinking of giving tuition and making some extra cash along the way. I'm an A level student with a place in our local university. I believe I should be able to handle primary school english. The main problem with me is that I have no idea where and how to get students. I don't have alot of friends and connections; and I wouldn't like to enlist the help of, or teach family members or family friends in fear of disputes and things going wrong. I was thinking that the best way would be to work for tuition agencies and let them assign me students but I am not sure which agencies I may go to. Sigh.. It sure sucks to grow up and have responsibilities but I guess I really gotta ask for help from the helpful members of SRC. Hope some of you here would have ideas on how I may go about giving tuition and making extra cash along the way. Thanks guys
  5. Xia lah!! I actuslly do think that they really look alike sia!!
  6. I entered the army a fit man.. But due to injury in OCS I dropped to C9L3.. Actually better now cause slack like crazy but during the period of injury (obviously it's serious cause C9L3 - right shoulder 2 muscle tears plus a prolapsed disc) it was hell. Also my injuries are those type that are prone to come again. Well, in a way that's why personally I hate army for causing me like this. (especially this particular 'person') But now I really really slack so... win and lose lah.. now just looking to ORD next year
  7. Alright.. Thanks, all you guys.. Yeah I'm beginning to realize how hard it is to sell a Dreamcast. diabolus you're right... 250 is way too high.. Main thing is cause of the 2 arcade controllers that cost me alot. But you're right.. I should do a price check.. Maybe less than hundred? I will be checking the newspaper and hope to sell. Hope can be kept informed by you guys especially you, milky.. Thanks!!
  8. Yup confirm already they don't buy sega Dreamcasts.. I called them and the guy talking to me was seriously rude.. Sigh...
  9. I asked one of the cash converter staff before.. He say the ydon't buy Dreamcasts. Milky what do you mean by deals on newspaper? where do I find them? Hope to get more help on this.. thanks
  10. Hey guys.. This question is basically about my Dreamcast. See I've got a fully modified Dreamcast with 4 controllers.. 2 arcade ones and 2 standard ones. It comes of course with a memory card and vibrating thingi. I have 12 games with it including Virtua Striker 2 v2000, Crazy Taxi 2, Street Fighter 3, MvC2, Power Stone 2, Shen Mue etc etc (but the games are all.. Ahem..) Thing is that I actually really want to sell my Dreamcast (really good condition.. seldom used, well stored) but dunno how to go about it. Cash converter won't take it the last time I asked verbally and other than that, I dunno where else to sell my Dreamcast. I hope to get $250 for it considering 12 games and 2 ARCADE controllers which cost me much more than that last time but I'm willing to negotiate the price very very much. I'm not excatly trying to sell it in this forum I just really wish to know WHERE or HOW I can sell it for a good deal. Hope this forum can help like it always comes thru for me. Thanks
  11. Woah.. it sure is a relief knowing that the criteria to get into psy in NUS aren't that strict anymore. Well, thanks a million, you guys for answering my questions. Weirdly, it's thru sgREEF forums that I get most of the answers to my queries. Guess it really shows what a closely knit community AT has built up. Still have some thinking to do but seriously I've a much clearer perspective regarding things now ALL because of the members here in the forum. Thanks again, guys. God Bless this forum!
  12. Hey guys, really really thank you all for your replies!! Firstly, I'm actually really happy to hear that there is no 'cut off point' or criteria to meet to get into psychology. It's really the opposite to what I've been hearing, though, what with it being competitive and there being the BIDDING SYSTEM where students gotta compete for the course they want? The risk of not getting into psychology even after getting a place in Arts n Social Sciences is what made me consider NTU in the first place. I really really hope to continue in the field of psychology, though.. whether it be child, clinical, marriage or therapeutic psychology.. I of course intend to get an honours (it's really hard, right) and continue to do my masters overseas. That's why I'm trying to find uot as much as I can before I make the wrong mistake in my very first step. Of course I am thankful I can even make it into university with my A level results. Thanks for all the help, guys!!
  13. Wow thanks!! You've been really really helpful. Thing is that I've heard NUS's degree is not recognised becaused NUS's course is known as 'psychology and social work' and you get a bachelor in Arts and Social Sciences instead of NTU where you get a bachelor in Psychology? Also these things I hear from friends who've finished A levels and are in NS and not intending to take psychology so I have no idea if they are that reliable. I will PM you cause I think your friend will be of great help if either of us may contact her. Thanks alot again. Oh my A level results were good enough to make it to both courses (remember I took it 2 years ago and not last year) but I may nt be smart enough to make it for Psychology in NUS even after making it into Arts n Social Sciences?
  14. Hi Guys, I know this is rather an unorthrodox question and I dunno how many people here would know the answer but I'm gonna ask anyway cause I really do need help. I'm in NS right now and I will be going uni next year (which means I took my A levels 2 years ago). I've been keen on studying psychology but I really dunno which uni I should choose. I dunno how many people would know this but NTU is having a psychology course beginning this year. As for NUS, it's psychology course is within it's faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. While some say that NUS's course is better as it is more established, others say that only NTU's course is recognised overseas. Another thing is that psychology in NUS is very popular and difficult to get into (even after getting a place in Arts n Social Sciences) while as for NTU, you get it as a major once you register successfully. All my friends are giving me mixed answers and I would really appreciate it if someone here could give me a clear and concise view of the situation. Thanx!!
  15. Starfishes generally feed on detrus and leftover food from your fishes so you shouldn't worry too much about it starving in your tank. It's true that they are sensitive to major changes in water conditions (like any other marine invert) but IN MY OWN OPINION AND EXPERIENCE, starfishes are really really easy to keep. So, I'm thinking you won't have too much trouble keeping him alive
  16. Yep clowns would be comfortable making almost any soft coral it's host. No need to get an anemone. In fact, you should remember the difficulties of keeping an anemone and the harm anemones do to your corals if you have any. Good luck!
  17. Nice.. it's always a challenge to maintain small nano tanks, what with the fluctuating temperatures and water parameters. Hope you make the right choices and buy only the hardiest of livestock for your nano tank since it's so small (mandarins are a no-no since there will never be enough pods) but I guess gobys and perhaps damsels are alright if you don't mind them. Anyway, all the best for your amazing nano and pls do keep us updated!!
  18. I don't usually buy Home & Decor Magazines but this month's issue aroused my curiosity simply because of the feature article 'Swish Fish' which talked about designer aquariums incorporated into furniture. The article featured huge marine aquariums (bulit-in into 'fake' walls), compact wall mounted tanks (like paintings), aquariums as room dividers, mini ponds and so fourth... They were so so beautiful to look at and blended into the furniture so well that it really made me realised we've come a long way in home designing and aquarium technology. Imagine.. Mini aquariums hanging on walls like paintings!! I'd really want these designs incorporated into my home in the future!! Just a thought..
  19. Hey man your tank looks better and better everytime I see it. I know it really really difficult to aquascape a tall tank as opposed to a standard shaped one so keep up the good work, man.
  20. Dude that's no cheapo tank, man... It's freaking brilliant!! Can see you put in alot of effort into it and I guess it's the feeling we get when we see the fruits of our labour that makes us love this hobby!!
  21. Good to know that many people here are same as me hating their NSF stay-in life.... Home sweet home
