  1. Why not get a pump that can run out of water and then just run the FR from that pump? In this case, everything can be hidden in your cabinet. If you are running carbon in your FR, why don't you connect the FR to your chiller return?
  2. For my big Rhizos, I feed them with 1 fish and small ones 1/2 fish 1-2 times per week. They do eat the fishes and don't vomit them out. After eating, they open until very big... In future I may blend fish, prawn and mussels for them as I want their tentacles to open longer...
  3. Yeah, I'll take the light, 6060 and probably the 1250 also... For the FR, you can pack carbon in it and use it to run carbon.
  4. Jacky, Ur tunze 6060 comes with the magnet?
  5. What pump are you talking about? Eheim 1262 should still be able to do so. But take note the flow rate through your FR must be slow so you must connect pump to chiller and then tee off from your chiller to the FR.
  6. Eh Jacky...CR = Calcium reactor and you put Rowaphos in it???
  7. But to upgrade, maybe a few years later lah... Not sure what is the max load that a HDB floor can withstand... Dunno if 4x4x1.5 or 4x4x2 is doable or not... But anyway, I'll think about it when I find my 3 footer too small... I'll be converting my 2x1x1 to a FOWLR tank with maybe some cheap corals as deco. As a fowlr tank, water quality will be less of an issue since it is corals that are very unforgiving of high nitrates. Will be transferring some of the fishes over also. Probably my CBS, Sweet Lips and two common clowns will be migrating. Intending to keep mainly LPS and Softies and some smaller fishes in my 3ft tank.
  8. Who says can't keep many fishes in a 1.5ft cube??? I have the following in my 2x1x1 tank: 1) maroon Clown ~ 4 inches 2) blue tang ~ 2.5 inches 3) orange shoulder tang ~ 3 inches 4) Sweet Lips ~ 2+ inches 5) Goby ~ 3 inches+ 6) Koran Angel ~ 3 inches 7) 2 common clowns ~ 1.5 inches 8) Coral Banded Shrimp ~ 3-4 inches 9) Sea Cucumber Another 2 corals juz up the lorry today...
  9. If you think ur skimmer is working overtime, look at how hard my MCE600 is working...And I just cleared the collection cup yesterday midnight. So in 21 hrs, collection cup filled with foam...
  10. Like tat u call overtime huh??? If I show u mine...I think u peng san already...
  11. Cannot eat fish...then eat lobster lor...
  12. Use Bullet Proof Glass...Super indestructable...
  13. It is a big mough eating a small fish...
  14. Thare are from the same family but different from each other. Rhizo is also a Japanese Super Sun but it only has a single mouth. Suns may have many small mouths and super suns may have many big mouths. If you want your sun to open in the day time, you have to squirt some coral food at it. Once it senses the food, it will open.
  15. Feed them more and the tentacles will grow longer... But overfeed them and your nitrates will shoot up... You can try using henrys to feed them. You will see very good results with henrys also. Also thing you need to take note is your skimmer may overflow if you feed too much.
  16. Nope. Anyway, you can always get your tupperware underwater and then place the rhizo in your tupperware and then lift everything out of the tank...
  17. Yup, but if I get the sand out now, when i put it back into my tank, it is going to get sand back in it again once my goby gets to work...
  18. Yup, this rhizo is in the worst condition I've ever seen it in...also in the worst condition amongst all my other rhizos. The rest of my rhizos are still doing fine. If you want your rhizo to have tentacles that extend to 6 inches, do what I did last time... finely chopped silver fish, prawn and mussels mixed with 5 in one coral food and seachem reef plus. Leave it for 30 mins. After that, take your rhizo out and place it in a tupperware filled with your tank water. use a syringe to feed the mixture to your rhizo. Let your rhizo feed for 30-60 mins. If your rhizo feeds, what you will see is that the flesh will bloat up a LOT. I have seen mine bloat more than 1 inch above the skeleton. Once this happens, put it back into your aquarium and you can see how long the tentacles will extend. Do this every night for a week and you will see the tentacles extend a LOT after that. Do it for a month and you might be able to see the tentacles extend to 6 inches...
  19. They will prefer low to medium flow and if you want the tentacles to extend until very long, you cannot have direct flow at them.
  20. This is the rhizo that I am talking about. Although I have shook out most of the sand, you can still see quite a bit of sand on the flesh of the rhizo. Currently feeding it so will see how much the tentacles will extend once fed. Previously extend ard 3 inches or more after feeding. Will probably release it if I get any reasonable offer for it.
  21. Got space constraints lah. If I put up will have to shift some of my corals down and they may sting each other to death as they will be placed very close to one another on the sand bed...
  22. Cannot lah...cost me more than 2 blue notes when i bought them previously...
