  1. Yup, the 4x12 one can be used to fie up filter media such as Rowa Phos or Carbon and you won't be afraid that any particules from the media will find their way into your sump. The 4x7 I think would be the optimal size for any sump. But if your tank is dirty or if you flood your tank with food daily, then the filter sock will clog up very quickly.
  2. That's one easy way to clean the filter sock... Before using the filter sock, also best to wash it with bleach and RO/DI water first. Filter socks typically will have some chemicals in it so washing it with bleach will totally clean it.
  3. Yup, super efficient in clearing away the detritus...I could do a weekly change but only issue is whether the detritus collected by the sock will clog up the sock. Now my tank is clearer and cleaner than it has ever been...
  4. Yup, it should happen that way. But the chances of the sock getting choked is quite slim as it is really big.
  5. Knowing Jacky, your Yuma would be palm sized by now...
  6. Don't see any MRT track leh but see a nice balcony and some HDB flats
  7. Probably once every 3-4 days. May use them for ard 2-3 months before changing them. Material of the filter socks is polypropylene felt so I'm afraid that if I wash them too often, the material will stretch and they will not be as effective in the long term. Of course, ideal scenerio is to use once and throw but too expensive to do that lor... Next time will probably get the 10 or 25 micron 4x7 or 4x12 socks.
  8. Where got lobang??? But I'm thinking of getting in the smaller filters, probably 25 micron type 4x7 size or 4x12 size. 7x16 is really a bit too big for my sump...
  9. Santa Clause not me lah...Daryl is the SRC Santa Clause...
  10. There is a smaller size one, 4 inch diameter and 7 inch length. There are even smaller sized ones but not selling on MD though.
  11. It is the 200 micron filter sock. 7 inch one, buy 1 get 1 free @ USD 8.99. But take note that the shipping cost will kill you. For shipping 26 filter socks through vPost, my shipping cost per filter sock is about $7. Each filter sock comes out to be about $14.
  12. Too big to tie to pipe lah bro... I'm using the S hook to hook the filter sock to my sump. For the one at the skimmer outlet, it is wedged between the skimmer and my FR...
  13. Nike sock can only trap large detritus...filter sock of 200 micron can trap baby brine shrimp... Next time I may get the 25 micron type...
  14. I think if you use also will be this dirty... Now my sump super clean... And tank super clear...
  15. Ozone is seldom if ever injected anywhere other than into a skimmer and for that matter, the skimmer outlet should preferable be connected to a FR filled with carbon. Ozone must not be allowed to enter your aquarium because it can kill your fish and invertebrates and/or damage the beneficial bacterial in your biological filter. Also, ozone gas is unsafe to breath and can cause irritation even in small concentrations. If you have a sump, then you can bubble the ozone into the first compartment of the sump but before the water is pumped back into your tank, it has to pass through carbon.
  16. Just to let you see how much detritus is collected by my filter sock that I put in my sump since yesterday 5pm Return Pipe Skimmer Outlet And this is the filter sock from Marine Depot that I am using
  17. Just got my filter socks from Marine Depot. Got the large size ones... 7 inch diameter and 16 inch length. Detritus collected since 5pm yesterday. Return pipe Skimmer Outlet
  18. Not really but this is only if you are keeping indo/pacific corals.
