  1. Richie, show us all the GEMS in your tank now...
  2. Yup, many LFSes coming in special CNY shipments...but I think the prices will also be very high for the red red corals...
  3. Not as rich as you lah... Can afford district 10 house one... I can only afford HDB flat leh...
  4. Any LFS will be able to do it for you. Otherwise you can go to Atlantic Glass next to GO.
  5. Yup, will have to do regular cleaning of the socks in future... By the way, most of the corals you see are no longer in my tank...sold off to make way for future new arrivals...
  6. Not sure how much it costs because I never asked...
  7. Yup, saw at CCK MRT previously. They had a demo where they washed some clothes and under garments in it. Looks something like this:
  8. Yes I put bleach inside my washing machine. Washing clothes, I also put it so no problem. Actually front loading or top loading is the same.
  9. Those are zoa eating nudibranchs...u need to kill them otherwise they will eat up your zoas and then move on to other zoas in your tank. Very soon all your zoas will up the lorry... U can choose to dip them in lugols solution (iodine), freshwater or coral RX. Lugols and freshwater will stress your zoas so coral rx is the preferred solution to use. Anyway, you need to do it quickly as once the nudis lay eggs, you will face a never ending battle to keep them off your zoas.
  10. Get those small portable washing machine. Saw them selling at pasar malam and some other places. Supposed to be used to wash small pieces of clothing but guess can be used to wash filter socks also...
  11. Your zoa is infested with nudibranchs...Not good... Try dipping in Coral RX to kill off the nudis.
  12. Snails and crabs are very amazing and they can shift your corals...
  13. The temperature requirements may not be very accurate e.g. Ricordea Yuma is stated as requiring a temperature of between 22 to 25.5 degC on liveaquria. Frankly where the Yuma is collected at (Philippines/Indonesia), the temperature will seldom if ever reach 22 degC. In fact according to liveaquria, all corals are supposed to be kept at temperatures between 22 to 25.5 degC.
  14. Better and faster than hand wash... Wash with bleach and then rinse with water. Super clean liao...
  15. You can get those clip on fans, 25W type and use it to blow your sump. Temperature will drop around 2-4 degC depending on room temperature...
  16. Of course you can't wash your clothes with the sock... Unless you want your clothes to smell fishy... Ya, just tried to wash one sock with the water level set to small. Still wasted quite a lot of water... Next time probably will not do the full cycle and wash just 1 sock. Probably wash 4 socks and use the rinse cycle only. Time for me to probably get in more filter socks...25 micron, 4x7 type... Get 20 socks, each sock use 3 days then 2 months wash one time 20 socks...
  17. Nope. Zoas can't move by themselves. What do you have in your tank?
  18. Could be internal parasite...
  19. It should be the initial phase. Anyway, I just changed the filter sock that was collecting a lot of detritus from my return. So by tomorrow I should know whether as much detritus has been collected by the sock. Frankly I doubt it will be even 1/2 as much considering that my tank is really super clear now. As for turning off the return when feeding, it all depends on you. In my case, I don't turn off the return. What I do is that I switch off all the wavemakers in the tank and that's it. Lastly, cleaning the filter sock is really a PITA... Hand cleaning is next to impossible as it is very difficult to turn the filter sock inside out due to the two plastic handles in the sock. After trying a couple of times to wash the filter sock by hand, I finally realised that the best way to wash filter socks is just to use the....WASHING MACHINE... Seriously, using the washing machine, the filter sock is as clean as when it was new.
  20. Brittle star to be correct.
