  1. Depends on what type of fishes and corals you are keeping. Deep sea fishes you will need 24 degC and below. Same for certain deep sea corals that require lower temperatures. But if you are keeping fishes and corals from the Indo Pacific area, then a temperature of ard 28 deg is sufficient.
  2. If you are putting in the old sand, live rocks and bio balls from your old tank into your current sump, it should not be an issue.
  3. 1/4HP chiller should be fine for your tank size.
  4. Decided to take a few close up pics of some of my corals...
  5. Yumas are from the Indo China region, mainly from Indonesia and Philippines. The ones from US are Florida Ricordea. Rics and Yumas melting and disappearing has always been a problem that many reefers face. Most of the time, it is due to lighting conditions. Some Yumas/Rics prefer brighter lighting while others prefer less lighting.
  6. I think should be SRC will be a different place without the indian chief.. and his TCSS updates...
  7. Torch coral? Like this one? If you say the torch coral is not sticking on the rock then I'm confused. Maybe you can clarify what you actually mean.

  10. Already listed the main causes in the previous post. Anyway, see if there are any white spots on the zoa polyps. If there are then most probably zoa pox. Otherwise put the zoa rock in tap water for 30 secs and shake it for a while after that in the tap water and put it back into your tank. If there are nudis on your zoa rock, they will fall out after the fresh water dip. For your 3 ft tank, just clean it up and do a water change.
  11. These will slow down algae growth. But reducing your nitrates and phosphates will also achieve the same. I only clean my front tank panel once a week and back panel once a month now.
  12. juvenile china queen angels???? Think more suitable for Ah Siang...
  13. I presume you mean u want to stop algae from growing on your tank walls??? If you want to achieve that, then you will have to keep your nitrates and phosphates low and you would probably have to run carbon and phosphate media in an FR. But seriously speaking, you cannot prevent algae from growing at all. What these do is to reduce the growth of algae and you will not need to clean your tank walls so often.
  14. If you got it last week, i presume it is at least 4 days already? Were the zoa polyps open when u bought it at the farm? Also when u say it didn't seem to open up, does it mean all the polyps are closed or some of the polyps seems to open a bit? If the zoa polyps were open when u bought it at the farm, you could take it out of your tank and dip it in a bucket of tap water. Shake it in the water for 30s at most and you will see a lot of things falling out of the rock. After that put the zoa rock back into your tank and wait to see if it opens up in the next 2 days. If the zoa polyps were not open when u bought it at the farm, then take the zoa rock out of the tank and smell it. If it stinks, most probably you will have to throw it away. The main reasons why zoas do not open are: 1) Stress due to transportation from where it is harvested to Singapore 2) Die offs on the zoa rock which fouls up the rock 3) Nudi/pest attack on the zoa rock 4) Zoa pox
