Are you sure the loose resin costs more than the 2 replacement DI catridges? The loose resins only costs $10/L. Each replacement DI catridge uses only approx 800ml of resin. The cheapest DI refill I ever got was from AM during their PRE CNY sale where I think there was a 20% discount on the DI replacement catridges. Total became $48 for two catridges.

Hi Law, I would suggest that you take out the non standard pellets and use the normal bio pellets if you need to use them now. Otherwise if the package is unopened, you can ask the LFS you bought from if they are willing to do a 1 to 1 exchange for you.

If your skimmer was skimming properly when u first added in the bio pellets, then should not have any of the large size pellets in your pack. However, if you skimmer is not working properly since you added in the bio pellets, I would suggest taking out all the bio pellets and take a closer look at them. The one on the right is the pellet that you should remove.

Yup, the MCE600 is very powerful for a compact skimmer... If you try feeding with Henry's Reef Gourmet, you might even see your skimmer overflowing... What is your PH now? I wouldn't get too worried if it is not over 8.5.

True...if you don't smell it, then it won't smell... But it actually depends on how much gunk there is in your tank water...

I'm very sure you didn't read the entire thread. Both types of pellets are made by NP Bio Pellets. Only thing is that the "cheong" type of NP Biopellets that you see in your package now was not meant for hobbist use. Of course in future, you may see "cheong" NP Biopellets from China and made by companies in China but currently, the "cheong" pellets that you see are not fake products.

I actually set it for wettest skimming just so that you will notice immediately if no skim mate is produced. Adjust the collection cup higher and you will get drier skim mate. Just a note though, the drier the skim mate, the smellier it will be.

On the left side you see the normal shaped NP Reducing BioPellets. On the right side you see the odd shaped NP Reducing BioPellets. Picture of the 2 shapes of NP Reducing BioPellets in the package. What to do: If your skimmer stops working when you have added the NP Reducing BioPellets and you have 2 shapes of NP Reducing BioPellets, contact the store where you bought the NP Reducing BioPellets for more information to solve this problem. What you can do in the mean time: 1.) Take out the NP Reducing BioPellets till you contacted the store and helped you solve the problem or 2.) Sort out the 2 shapes of BioPellets and put only with oval shaped pellets back in to the system, not the square ones. Do contact the store where you bought the NP Reducing BioPellets.

I would say it's pretty normal for a Hailea.

The bigger packages are ONLY for sale to aquafarms/public aquariums and they deal direct with the manufacturer. All other exclusive distributors in each country deal with the global distributor in the neatherlands and the standard packing is 500ml and 1,000ml. Of course there is the possibility of the LFSes here getting their stocks from other distributors in other countries and thus getting in some fake products.

Dun think that will happen in Singapore as there is an exclusive distributor here and all LFS get their stocks from him.

By right it should be fully packed. But the last 3 refills as well as the original when I first bought it were never full. Anyway, no longer using crystal pro. Have already switched to RO/DI with refillable DI unit... But will be converting my existing Crystal Pro to a refillable DI unit...and keeping it when I need to make salt mix for changing water. Just realised that I still have about 15kg of salt in my store room.

Just curiuos. Does everyone get fully packed DI refill catridges for their Crystal Pro refills? I have never managed to get fully packed catridges so I'm not sure if this is the normal or I'm just the odd one out. Anyway, below are the two catridges that I got ard 2 months+ ago from AM.
