  5. My opinion is that there is no right or wrong way in cycling a tank. Some people like Indian Chief will put corals and fishes immediately without cycling and nothing happens. Some people prefer to cycle for 4-6 weeks before they add fishes in. At the end of the day, if you decide to put fishes in immediately then you must not overstock your tank. This means that you cannot throw in 5 tangs which are known to be poop machines and expect that your bacteria will be able to keep up with the waste produced. Do it slowly, add in the smaller fishes, dose bacteria and you are most probably good to go.
  6. U may want to consider the AquaC Renoma nano skimmer. It has pretty good reviews if I remember correctly.
  7. U can ask Indian Chief to start a bulk order for the live copepods that AM brings in. Either that or u can ask Indian Chief if he can spare you 1 bottle if he still has any left.
  8. When it comes to skimming, more is better and there is no such thing as overskimming a tank. Anyway, Indian Chief aka Jacky is using the MCE600 on his 1.5ft cube tank.
  9. Maybe you can list down the equipment you are using.
  10. Of the things you bought, I would say that some of them might not really be necessary depending on your setup.
  11. Good idea... Indian Chief...waiting for your actions...

  13. I will probably have 3 spare 50L drums next week... Toyogo tub is squarish type. I'm using two large toyogo tubs and 1 large 150L drum to store my NSW. Total volume ard 400L+.
  14. Just go whichever way u prefer...
  15. i think if you charge $1.50 per pack, you will be losing money...
  16. For distilled water, nothing is added into the water. http://www.norlandintl.com/distill.asp
  17. The blue tubs have a cover so you need not worry about washing detergent getting into the tub.
  18. Algae and cyano problems are not caused by PH fluctuations. They are normally caused by excess nutrients in your tank. You may want to read the article below on Cyano: http://www.algone.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=154:red-slime-algae-cyanobacteria&catid=36:saltwater-aquarium&Itemid=60 Secondly if you are using distilled water, then there is absolutely no need to mix seachem prime to get rid of the chlorine because there isn't any chlorine in distilled water.
  19. hmmm...Get the blue tubs and put them in your toilet or kitchen would be a better idea. I'm sure you wouldn't want another 3 ft tank with just NSW in your living room.
  20. Why would you want to have another tank just to store NSW???
  21. 1) Temp 27-29 degC - ok for LPS and softies 2) Chiller dun need - can go for fans but evaporation rate will be much higher 3) Corals - Get frags from Jacky
