That's true and the colours will be come more vibrant over time but the trade off is that the nitrates and phosphates will increase very quickly as the amount of nutrients will build up very quickly.
Usually when i feed my corals and fishes, I will switch off my return pump and wavemakers. Then target feed them and wait for 1/2 hr before turning on the return pump and wavemakers.
I got good results when I feed my blastos with a mix of rotifiers, copeopds and zooplanton. But recently I found that if I target feed them with henrys, mysis and other frozen food, the results are even more amazing. It's the same for all my other corals. They do better when I target feed them with frozon food and that's the main reason why my nitrates are up so fast.
Forgot to mention, mine is twice daily feedings of henrys and silver fish. Once daily feeding of pellets and the rest. I think I got to cut down the feeding of Henrys to probably once a week. I think it is the one that is causing my nitrates to rise so fast...especially over the last 1 week
Will be making my own frozen food blend soon. Using it to replace henrys as it should be cheaper and most importantly should not foul up the water so much.
Eh...U haven't posted your FTS yet???
Hi Comy,
What is your NO3 reading now? Mine is now 25 ofter 3 weeks of feeding henrys + silver fish + zooplankton, rotifier, phytoplankton, copepods, frozen mysis... I think I got to start using AZ NO3 on my tank now...

Yours is sun or super sun??? For super sun, they will open 24hrs a day if you feed them enough food. For suns, you will need to feed them at intervals in order for them to open throughout the day.
My super sun is open 24 hrs a day but my suns open mainly at night. In the day, when i squirt some liquid food at them, they will open otherwise they are often closed.
I don't really agree with exceeding the maximum flow rate of your chiller. The fact remains that the pipings in the chiller are smaller than the tubings you run the tank water through and the reservoir in the chiller is small. What happens is that if you exceed the recommended flowrate of the chiller, then you will get backflow to your chiller pump and this may cause vibrations and also noise in your chiller pump.
Flood your tank with Henry's Reef Gourmet...
Confirmed three things will happen:
1) Your Super Suns will open until super big big after 2-3 weeks, after a long period of flooding with henry's you may find two or three heads joining up to form a super big head with 2-3 mouths. See Henry's display tank and you will see what i mean...
2) Your nitrates will shoot up until sky high
3) If you have fishes, you will find that your fishes will become super fat
