  1. The only time I encountered this was when my chiller pump stopped working...
  2. Blasto 3 reserved by Elcarim.
  3. Ya, and you will be setting up your ric garden and yuma garden...
  4. His tank still got a LOT of space for gems. Think he should go Reborn to get the Aussie rainbow scolys...
  5. From same colony lah...Yours is no.1 his is no. 2 as posted in my sale thread...
  6. A pic of Jacky's blasto in my tank... I'm very sure it will look different from this in his tank under his LED lights.
  7. Ahhhh...don't want Ray to see that yours is nicer huh???
  8. Actually what I do is to defrost two cubes of mysis in a bowl of tank water. Once fully defrosted after ard 20 mins, I will then suck everything up into my 50ml syringe and blast it near my corals. For me, as long as my corals are booming, I'm pretty happy. I just try to keep the nitrates below 25 where possible. Once it goes above 25, i will do a large water change and that is why i keep 300-400L of NSW at my home...and this is also one reason why I won't try SPS as they require low nitrates...
  9. Your orange Yuma seems a bit dull. Try target feeding it with some frozen food. It should colour up gradually.
  10. Wow...bright headlights... Never mind...at least you still got 7 surviving polyps... Too bad I couldn't frag out some of the red ones for you as they are epoxy on my LR already and I don't want to take it out and epoxy it again later. Too troublesome already.
  11. Yup, hairy shroom. I got a similar one but darker in colouration i think.
  12. But I think yours is better right??? Got more polyps also...
  13. Ah...u can buy corals and put in my tank first... For fishes, u can put in Jacky's tank... For LED lightings, u can ask Jacky...he got a lot of experience with LEDs. For corals, put those that requite higher lighting near the top of your tank. Other corals that require less light place at the bottom.
  14. Yup, they are also scavengers. In fact all marine fishes and shrimps will eat dead LS. To them any dead LS is just an extre source of food. My prata actually ate one of my clowns that died recently...
  15. I believe they had more beautiful pieces but I never go on the shipment days as you are only going to get your head chopped... Damm...not sure if I should go reborn tomorrow to take a look at their rainbow scolys...but the price would probably be way over my budget...
  16. Uncle Chua actually won't know the actual shipment dates. Ah Bee and Ah Boy are the ones in charge of ordering and shipments these days.
  17. If your cleaner shrimp died in the rocks, it could already have been eaten by your other cleaner shrimp.
  18. Sealife very near Reborn. Can go to Reborn to take a look at their Aussie corals. But might not have a lot left by Sunday.
  19. Already passed some frags to Jacky liao. Under his blue LEDs the orange colour really pops out...
  20. U didn't see the pic meh??? Repost for you. Taken under 14K MH + T5 Atinic.
  21. Hi Peter, 1) hmmm... i hope my wife is not reading this forum... coz i told her it won't cost more than $200. But i think i am prepared to spend $1k on the setup i guess. Maybe $400 on Tank and Cabinet, and then $600 on Lights, Skimmer etc..etc... AS for the budget for the stocks, I guess they can be pretty cheap. At most another $200, given that with a inferior setup, i am not willing to risk big money and "boil" these fishes and coral to death. 2) how about 10 fishes? does it still sound insane? would prefer a mixture of small and mid size fishes... I would say unless you get the really small fishes that you see at marine Life, you can forget about keeping 10 normal size fishes in your tank. Don't learn from me. I got many big fishes in my 2x1x1 tank... 3) Mushroom and Zoas. Got it... 4) the flow rate for the cannister is 1000l/ hour. but as with any chinese made stuff.. the spec sometimes bo pa kay one. especially if it is loaded with biohomes and wool. With the skimmer, do i still need wool in my cannister? Yes, you will still need filter wool to trap the detritus from your tank water. And in your cannister you should put carbon and phosphate removing media. Cheers,
  22. Thanks Peter, As usual, appreciate your response. 1) I guess 40cm or about 1.3 feet is probably the widest i can go for. It woudl be something i have to live with. 2) Can i do without Chiller or Fan? The reason is Chiller will increase my electricity bill noticeably and fan will increase the noise noticeably. I need to lie low, to avoid my wife realising that there is a new tank at home. You can do without chiller and fan but you will probably be quite restricted in your choice of corals. As mentioned, you can try with zoas and mushrooms first. Previously for my 2ft tank when I was running it without a chiller, I kept brains, pratas, acans, zoas and mushrooms without any issues. 3) if without chiller or fan, I cannot keep the water to 28 degrees, would room temperature be bad for the fishes? I would like to have them in my living room, but i don't want them to have to die for me. If need be, i'll stick to FOWLR and be contented. Fishes can survive in room temp water but will be stressed. Again depends on what type of fishes. Clowns or nemos will probably do fine as will gobies. To reduce the temp of the water, you can freeze a bottle of water and dump it in your tank. Sorry for really dumb questions.. i kept FW tank for many years, but marine tank, this is going to be my first venture... and it cannot fail, otherwise, my wife will notice the new tank at home. Ha ha cheers,
