Looking to give away one Scopas Tang, 3-4 inches in size. Was irresponsibly bought by my tank-sharing partner without proper research and was attacked by my already present Purple Tang. Have not had a chance to look at it clearly, but so far looks like it has a bit of nipped fins. Hope to give it a good home with a responsible owner and hopefully no other similar Tangs in the tank. Please DO NOT take it unless you have a sufficiently large tank as this fish will grow. PM me if interested. State your name & contact number, preferred date to make an appointment. Will give collection details upon confirmation. Please bring your own pail/container/bag and transport. Collection 3rd January onwards, only during weekday office hours and located in the West. Will take pictures upon requested, feel free to PM me with questions.

These white spots started appearing all over my zoanthids and I suspect it's a disease. Other colonies I have are starting to close and all my Sun Corals have be tightly closed for a few days. How do I treat it? Full WC? Medication? HELP!

Hi guys, I read on a lot of websites that Tangs should be given green matter such as broccoli and spinach, in addition to normal pellets, dry algae, an frozen food. Any experience and recommendations? Cheers.

My first ever marine tank 5.5x2x 2.5
girlanimated replied to girlanimated's topic in Members Tank & Specs
Yep, but during the week I do my own maintenance whenever there. Top up water, test parameters, dose additives, etc. Gonna cut down on maintenance soon though, tank maturing nicely. Iwarna. IMO they did a pretty good job, just that you might want to consider switching the lighting after awhile as the ones they provide are a bit dim and tend to overheat. I changed mine to LumenAqua LED. Also, biofiltration might be an issue if you end up stocking the tank this heavily. I added Seachem matrix and those bio-home tubes (Dymax brand) this week. Might get some rowaphos to treat the algae... But for now, I am dirt broke. ANYWAY, a Lobo and an Elegance were added recently.. though the elegance tentacles are like.. short and fat. Not long and flowing... -
Algae Blenny losing weight.
girlanimated replied to girlanimated's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
The sailfin tang does the same thing as the cleaner wrasse... definitely not agressive as fins all closed and doesn't chase him. hmmm maybe he could be sick... oh thanks btw, regarding the other thread. -

Cleaner wrasse? Sailfin tang attempts to nibble on him once and awhile, but no broken fins or anything. I feed hikari mysis and cyclops, and supplement nori for the tangs (but pieces often fall everywhere). I can't really tell abt the algae marks coz some of them were made by Tangs. Tank is around 6months. Water paraments all okay. -
My algae blenny has been slowly losing weight. But the thing is, there is an abundance of brown algae on the sandbed that he isn't eating, and some brown/green slime that he isn't eating either. And from what I know thats what Algae blennies are supposed to eat. What do I do?

Thank you!!! Actually, some of it it is green algae. Only 40-50% is corraline and the rest is the bare rock. I think i need some anti-phosphate. -
