  1. I have been using Sorb-4 for phosphate control and Pur II to polish water. Effective and affordable. But have to remember to change regularly. If you are going to use algae scrubber, why not just start out with that first, before deciding what additional media you need? You have 4-6 weeks of cycling time to decide whether you need additional media.
  2. If asking family members or neighbours to take care make sure to give specific and detailed instructions. Especially if they are not familiar with the hobby. I wouldn't want my mom to dump in half bottle of pellets because she thought my fish were too hungry. Or better still, she thought my corals were dying when she woke up in the morning when they were all deflated and remembered that I said corals dying might not be good for water quality and almost decided to throw them away. *faintz*
  3. Yes, it's wrasse craze, and a Flame wrasse addition! lots of white spots, and my betta box needs a good scrubbing. Will try to take a better shot on wed after I release him tmr night. why on earth is he making tt mouth!!??

  13. okie... i'm officially jealous! when will mine look like tt!!??
  14. wah u dun look tt old Jacky! care to share your secret? heh
  15. haha tt's why i said theory... I am still dosing bacteria now coz my tank's pretty new, might consider dosing less often in future when my tank matures. Anyway, you sound like you got a war plan going on to combat nitrates! hahaa looking good
  16. Of course! the typical sales pitch would be tt even though your bacteria is already established, dosing bac on a regular basis ensures that the correct strains of bacteria remain in ure system. You don't want only a 1 dominant strain of bacteria in your system. I say sales pitch because it's up to you whether you believe it and want to continue with dosing bacteria or not. Unless you take your LR and take lab tests, u won't know whether bacteria in your LR is sufficient or not right? Theory wise, it makes sense to me
  17. wow lots of ppl with deep pockets! any news of shipment this week?
  18. Thanks guys for helping me reserve. I would prob be at a loss on how to choose a nice one! Healthy and feeding on pellets already Currently in betta box, will take some pics soon.

  20. Thanks law! looks like I need to soak in vinegar soon... the head also has a slight film of white calcium deposit on it.
  21. Appreciate if someone can tell me if having calcium deposits on your probe will affect the performance of it? My probe has turned from black to completely white. Also wanna find out how often do you guys calibrate your probes. Thanks!
  22. really nice looking AT you have there? Managed to get 1 tt feeds on pellet?
  23. Bro I'm not sure if iwarna still sells their diy set, but good way to start as it safes u the hassle of running around to find the correct parts n all. Of course if you're a true blue diy-er, then it's prob cheaper to start from scratch.
