  1. dreaming dreaming dreaming.... I hope to go there one day. Must be absolutely surreal to experience it. Watched this video a million times, still love every bit of it
  2. shroom garden! haha grats on your first corals!
  3. omg ure taste is really like Ed's eh? lol spray paint lor
  4. Sounds ok. You just need to change new bulbs
  5. In short, yes. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73162 happy reading! *you could pm santa monica and ask him more coz he's the pro*
  6. Best is to ask the person you bought the tank from. It doesn't look like a 3.5x2x2 anyway, what are the dimensions of the tank?
  7. yeah, maybe invite us down to provide some optic power
  8. okie... then really looking forward to your setup. I also like rimless, will model your setup for my future tank! err... hahaa how come Jacky sabo me! ya la... he's quite sensitive to noise one. His tank is super quiet even when compared to mine. And those who have seen my tank will know mine is moderately quiet (if there's such a thing) already...
  9. seriously it's not just the floor. I think the tank gonna be in your room right? So most of your stuff will also kena, and I dunno about you, but sleeping on a bed with salt particles... not fun ok la maybe exaggerating abit, but tt's something for you to find out if you do rimless and tell us so we can learn
  10. so whois gonna feed your fishes and hamster?
  11. your tank has v. low turnover la... the return is less than 800L/hr!! how to compare... Zorden's tank will prob have at least 3000L/hr return back to his pump... tt kinda return+high flow coz keeping sps, confirm got salt creep. Need Reddevilz to confirm la... he's the pro at setup.
  12. why not thurs? should have shipment coming in... (not confirm)
  13. hahaa told you le bro, no shopping for me anytime soon... but yes, when Zorden sets up his tank... think my wallet should have recovered Maybe coz they never take off their shoes there and don't know how sticky the floor actually is?
  14. got alot of low ballers ard... tsk tsk. if cannot sell, then act as backup skimmer? I like the idea of building a small cabinet for the skimmer though. Can act as future space for possible upgrades like a frag tank. Sure! I wanna enjoy and learn from your tank too. If possible, in future I would like to keep a 3x3x1.5 or 4x3x1.5 if I have the budget actually.
  15. lol got $$ then go for the BEST otherwise Deltec APF600? 24" only...
  16. 12mm can le. Its not need or no need, it's to help prevent salt creep. It is not a min amount of effort if you have to mop the floor everyday. lol As always, when building a tank, there should be a balance between practicality and style. Of course it doesn't hurt to have more $$ to handle more impractical solutions.
  17. lol found any tank maker willing to do the bracing right on top of the tank? Like the ones you posted in your previous thread. Believe they were done by aqua technic or some other LFS.
  18. yeah... if you have no time for the next few months, throw the dead prawn in and let it cycle. Your system will be perfect. Just maintain 4hrs of blue light daily, don't even need to switch on chiller. you can come back to a fully cycled system, ready to go! Can just choose low maintanence corals/fishes. auto feeder, auto water top up. Water change and clean tank walls when you come home. Many have done this. I've seen a totm from the other forum and he travels very extensively. His SPS and LPS are all thriving, super solid tank.
  19. yeah... it's like creepy crawler. Remember the first time I saw it, it was like some monster hiding inside the rocks ready to pounce on anything.
  20. Maybe Ed can share with us how you manage salt creep and sandstorms with your shallow tank, which I understand is only 16"?
  21. bro so fast decomm? haiz... wish you all the best then.
  22. Sea fans are not easy to keep. These are non photosynthetic corals and require daily feedings. Your experience sounds like a classic case of them being starved to death slowly. What sort of LEDs are these? 3W, any optics? Sounds like you have alot of light for your small tank. Not all zoas need strong light. Many of them prefer low-medium light. If your temperature is at 30 degrees regularly, that could have contributed too. Corals typically do better below 29 degrees. Don't assume that nitrate is low. Test for it. Same as iodine, calcium and strontium. Do not add if you don't test. Otherwise you might overdose, and it might be lethal. Since it is such a small tank, you have to know how much to add. Corals are sensitive to major fluctuations. There is no such thing as wrong tester. Just buy all the kits if you want to. Otherwise, just get the basic ones first like Sherman mentioned.
  23. No job scope given when you applied for the job? If it's agency just relax... Otherwise it's more impt to research on the company than know the job scope... As someone new, will be forgiven if you dunno the job scope
  24. any signs of disease? The maroon already know he's king, don't need to disturb anymore...
  25. bro, do you have the budget to go bigger? If yes, can use this tank as a quarantine tank Anyway such a small tank, I would suggest going bare bottom. Not much depth to play ard with sand. I would suggest starting the cycling with either fish food or prawn or bacteria starter. And start reading up I can see information overload in your questions as you try to puzzle out everything. Tt's good, but you prob wanna just concentrate on initial set up information. Move on to stocking up and corals when you're in cycling phase... and slowly, the knowledge will come as you read more. Wish you all the best!
