  1. Nice suns! Do they open up any bigger? coz mine only open ups to the same size as the pics...
  2. Do massive water change. shouldn't add any corals or fishes when cycling ...
  3. Hi all. I'm rescaping and have about 40-50kg live rocks left over. Fully cycled and coralline encrusted. Average size is 10-12 inches. Enough to fill up 2-3ft tanks. Letting go at $3/kg. Interested can contact me at 96783503. Thanks!
  4. hehe no way to know until you try it but by then tt's why we say don't take the risk...
  5. The idea is to have something to support so the top board doesn't warp, so yes think u got the idea. To ensure the support doesn't move, Mr Chew just needs to screw in a something to hold the support in place. He will know one la, he's the pro.
  6. The center support is removable before water goes into the tank. He just needs to screw in some sort of stopper to prevent the support to move ard. Once the tank is filled with water and the extra weight sits into the support, it will become unmovable. Although it doesn't start from the floor board, the support will still be resting on it, on top of a layer of plywood. Don't think it will affect the stability or anything as long as it's properly secured.
  7. errrm... this is not an addictive... the faster the pods get into the tank, the faster they start populating and reproducing.
  8. remember to put styrofoam at the bottom of the tank to balance out! Don't think I see any at the bottom now.
  9. Prob true in newer nano tanks like yours, but not in matured, bigger tanks. Some tanks have reached such a steady state tt you don't even need to feed your fishes. They graze off your LR either from algae or pods. Cheato provides a safe haven for pods to grow because it's normally not accessible to fishes. They thrive in dark places and will hide within the confines of the cheato, and I don't see fishes swimming in and getting entangled in cheato, so prob tt's a good alternative to keeping a refugium or LR in sump to cultivates pods. In fact, I'm prob gonna float a basket of cheato in my main tank to cultivate some pods after my rescape to repopulate my LR after the shift.
  10. Can't tell bah, unless you put them under the scope... you might be adding RO water for all you know!
  11. pay with frags and fishes. 1 frag / photo. 1 wrasse / fts
  12. how come the nice big rock seems like got some stuff missing? Upz for your rocks bro, nice big ones... easy to scape.
  13. forgot to ask also... how's the diy chiller coming about, any updates?
  14. oops hahaa then quickly pore inside your tank and let the pods grow before adding mandarin!
  15. my clam already got eaten by... guess who? All my fishes are fast and furious eaters. I have resorted to target feeding my mandarin otherwise he confirm will starve one... Hope can train him to eat pellets, otherwise he will de dependent on my balloon stick. haha I will try copperband maybe sometime in the future, coz I suddenly have space for another fish... lol
  16. hmmm 2 layer of wood does help I guess. I'm just concerned coz every >3ft cabinet I've seen definitely has a support, even LFS. Guess we will be waiting for your favourable review! Maybe set the trend for future cabinet designs. btw what wood did you choose for the main frame? Kapok or Chenggai?
  17. hmmm Lemon's comments change my views on copperband. But I'm still worried about them pecking my corals... Don't get me wrong, I love copperband actually. One of the few fishes tt caught my eye first time I walked into a fish shop (RB). But with their mouth like tt... I just can't help being paranoid about them pecking my corals. I can only think of my 3 wrasses at home, considered 'reef safe' but happily pecking my bubble coral to death. Maybe might try getting them once my tank has settled down in a couple of weeks time
  18. Just dun get pink lights... lol Looking forward to your pics today!
  19. Bro nice collection of fishes you have there. Any plans on upgrading soon? your 2ft tank looks like getting abit overcrowded with 2 Tangs. How's the bioload coming along?
  20. And bringing back bulky equipment is too troublesome. And even if you can get the same equipment back here, agents will not be willing to service as they only service local sets. btw bro your skimmate super milo gao... how come your rocks so dirty ah? Are your test kits new or old? got check expiry date? paiseh, just being thorough here just in case.
  21. hope the mandarin survives then! take some pics of it?
