  1. Hi guys, want to sell away my rhizo. Reason being I don't have the time to feed it, and would like a better home for this beauty. Price is $150 non negotiable. Can contact me @ 9678 3503 for quick deal. Recent pic of it during feeding time. Thx for viewing!
  2. haha yeah maybe will play ard over the weekend, see if i can get the insane colours out. And the biohome sure does work, don't worry about tt. Otherwise my tank would prob have crashed when I rescaped and lost all bio filtration.
  3. They go pretty crazy over them. But not much nutritional value in them, why would you want to feed them tt? Remember to sieve them out before adding into the tank though. Don't just pour it in.
  4. bro lovely collection of zoas. Next time must frag some of your zoas collection out for me already! So did you get the lights? I'm still figuring what settings to use on my camera to take the blue shots... can't seem to get the colours out.
  5. Oops forgot about tt post... Anyway I think since you are getting suns/supersuns, you will prob feed them every few days right? Just leave a pail of saltwater standing somewhere so everytime you take them out to feed, you can do a water change. Like 1L = ~5% change. will be better for the tank as less shock to the system.
  6. Reduce your nitrate levels. If cycling process is complete, you should have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and quite abit of nitrate. Have you tested how high your nitrates are?
  7. You can always keep them submerged when taking in and out. If you can, check not only salinity but ph as well.
  8. your ph levels seem fine. Can try to aerate your water more by facing your return/wavemaker towards the surface.
  9. yup you can do a 50% wc. Btw, if you want to keep suns/supersuns, I think the best way of feeding them would be to take them out to feed. This way you don't contaminate your water. Still keeping coral banded shrimp?
  10. lol yeah the expression of the cat really v. cute... The owner really knows how to 'torture' it. Purposely fed his fishes so they swim towards the surface... It's like putting a plate of fresh sashimi in front of us, but no matter how we try, cannot reach it!
  11. you should just install a pump with super long hose to drain water out and pump water back in from the toilet la... Maybe mix the saltwater in your old tank before pumping it into the new one
  12. hmmm in such a small tank, I think the chances of it happening is quite high. But you can still try. You might want to look at Banded Trochus Snail. Apparantly they are harder for crabs to attack due to their shell shape.
  13. for 5 gallons? definitely. I would stick to max 2-3 fishes that will not outgrow 1" if I were you. (Actually I would advice not to keep fishes in your tank, but don't think you will listen right? haha) And definitely not coral banded shrimp. too big, too aggressive.
  14. Hope you get a good discount too! But must remember, there is only 1 tank maker and he cannot do all 4 tanks at the same time. Best is not to rush the job too so you get good quality, cured tank.
  15. lol I kept waiting and waiting...
  16. CF brought in supersuns? I think you mean lck. They still have quite alot. Don't think many lfs bring in nowadays...
  17. Rimless = no bracing at the top. Atlantic glass industries, near Golden Octopus, one of our sponsor. Can try Aquarium Artist if you want another recommendation, also one of our sponsor.
  18. That's a beautiful tank you have there. Love the cabinet doors. And the minimalist scaping. Is the overflow at the side? wow!
  19. same same, but different http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/10/aafeature2
  20. just wondering... jewel coral? Call it goniopora la. Think it will be easier to ID. Glad yours is opening. I just readjusted my pumps, hopefully, it opens big big too!
  21. Just my 2 cents worth. There are quite a lot of live rocks currently sold in LFS at various prices. Some exorbitantly priced, others quite reasonable. We also have reefers selling 2nd hand rocks at bargain prices when decomm. If I need rocks now, I will start from lowest priced upwards. I always found that the most limiting factor to buying live rock is that you can't change the shape of the rock. So you either live with it and use your creative juices to come out with as nice a scape as possible, or hunt all over singapore for the perfect rock to fit your dream scape. Since you are going to artificially create the rocks, it would be great if customers would specify the exact shape they wanted or you have a few common designs for customers to choose from. Just throwing out some ideas off my head for you to explore. Imagine having just 3 rocks to scape your 6ft tank And having your dream dramatic clifts and drop offs and all other fantasy rock scapes. I'm sure there will be a mkt willing to pay a small premium for such services.
  22. You should always insist on being allowed to feed the fishes before you buy, unless the staff already told you the fish is not feeding. Tt's why I have not gotten the Yellow Clown Goby from Ah Beng despite them almost always having a supply of it. After my horrid experience with a non feeding one, I will definitely get one tt's already feeding. Have been scouting ard for a nice speciman, but don't think there are good feeding ones out there anymore.
  23. Where did you come across the term crystal glass? I believe Starphire is a brand of low iron glass.
  24. So funny, I thought you would shift the xenia to another spot but you shifted the wavemaker instead Won't tt affect overall flow and other corals too?
  25. Did you keep them refrigerated? No matter, I would feel uncomfortable feeding my reef with food that has been sitting in my fridge longer than 6 months. From my research, very few successful stories on keeping it, you need to feed it at least 3 times daily, and have to maintain water quality with such frequent feedings.
