  1. got look ard the surroundings of the tank? maybe it jump out? Highly unlikely though. Since they are so small, they are actually capable of squeezing into the smallest of holes in your LR. They might be hiding inside some hole tt you can't see.
  2. V. nice gsp! If you are gonna frag in future let me know bro!
  3. gratz bro on your new tank! Whatcha your plans for the empty space beside the tank? I suggest let the tank run for a week and test your parameters. Add some bacteria, and if everything is stabilized, can start with some cleanup crew next week V. neat and tidy sump. Consider changing your biofilter to biohome?
  4. Woo!!! so cute! Is it feeding yet?
  5. woohoo! I like the anthelia mountain paiseh couldn't join u guys today...
  6. With google's nexus one out, and hopefully, voice recognition software becoming more advanced, think of the possibilities in combining both technologies! We will be able to talk to our computer, don't even need tactile feedback anymore! What can I say? The future is finally catching up
  7. lol bro will visit your tank one of these days definitely. V. nice FTS! Anymore plans to add other fishes in? More tangs or dwarf angels maybe?
  8. Bro Iskay's article is pretty good at answering almost what you need to know about ich and how it affects your fishes. Have you read it yet? If your fishes are still feeding healthily, then hope tt they will shrug it off.
  9. 2ft cube tanks typically have v. small sumps, will be a challenge to house all your equipment + refugium in the sump. Have you checked out http://www.melevsreef.com/allmysumps.html yet? Do you have any initial idea on how you want to squeeze everything in?
  10. wow bro, is your tank 70% full yet? Or still have lots of space for frags? V. nice coco worm!!
  11. Should be relatively safe to add corals next week, barring another parameter test. Remember to start off with easy corals coz new tanks parameters can still fluctuate more, and the more delicate ones will not be able to handle the wild swings. Th % water change will correlate to the almost the % change in your nitrates, so 50% WC will reduce nitrates ~ 50%. If you do 25% WC twice over the span of 2 weeks, you are effectively only changing 37.5% of the water, and thus not as effective. If you are using mixed saltwater, remember to let it aerate for at least 24 hours and remember to dose bacteria after every water change. Think now's a good time to start introducing the lighting period into your tank, maybe 4-5hrs everyday to induce the algae/coralline tt will start growing. Can choose to switch on all or blue light only.
  12. Did you dose any bac? Mayb tt's why you arent really gong through the cycling process coz the bacteria culture is substantial. No matter, will be good to monitor for another week for the Ann cycle. The rest of te parameters not really tt impt now, I would only correc them after you have done your wc to reduce the nitrates. No point wasting good chemicals and salt! Get the reflectometer! Good investment in the long run.
  13. yum yum wrasses! does it flash alot?
  14. Actually I think tt means available only if you have the $$ to afford Prob won't hit mass market retail anytime soon, but tt could change in the near future!
  15. oops my bad link here: http://lightblueoptics.com/products/light-touch/
  16. This is waaaay cool! Hopefully I will be able to see 3d holographic technology in my lifetime!
  17. Holographic Laser Projection – or HLP™ – is a revolution in display technology. The term holographic refers to the inventive method we use to create 2D images. Using holographic algorithms, we transform the image we want to project into sets of diffraction patterns, which are shown on a tiny microdisplay. When laser light illuminates the microdisplay, the projected image is formed by diffraction. Diffraction patterns are highly efficient. Instead of blocking light, they steer light to exactly where it is needed and away from where it is not. Calculating the diffraction pattern for each high quality image would be too computationally intensive, so we’ve created a more elegant solution. We calculate multiple patterns, each of which forms a rough version of the image. When viewed in rapid succession, the eye evens out the noise and perceives a single, clearly defined image. So you get efficient, high quality video in real time. Using lasers means colours appear rich and vivid, and the image is always in focus. HLP™ technology also projects perfectly onto curved surfaces. Its uniquely wide throw angle creates large images very close to the projector. And HLP™ has a class 1 laser safety classification, making it completely eye safe. These features enable us to integrate infrared sensing technology and create an interactive projector that instantly transforms any flat surface into a touch screen.
  18. Light Touch™ is an interactive projector that instantly transforms any flat surface into a touch screen. It frees multimedia content from the confines of the small screen, allowing users to interact with that content just as they do on their hand held devices – using multi-touch technology. Light Touch™ has Holographic Laser Projection (HLP™) technology inside which creates bright, high-quality video images in WVGA resolution. Integrated infrared sensors detect motion and turn the projected image into a 10.1″ virtual touch screen, so the user can control the projector and interact with applications simply by touching the image. 19. u bury my hammer in the sand!!! grr.. nvm actually the tigger pods I passed to u were red antz lol actually I can't ID coz i haven't seen the hammer I got from you in person btw Law, I'm super jealous of your D90 iso capabilities!! keep going trigger happy!
  20. unbeatable skimmer if you don't mind spending abit more!
  21. Thx guys! yeah... I think I can only afford small frags, have to be disciplined! Limited resources, unlimited wants... haiz
  22. wah bro you bought new lens? V. nice photos of v. nice corals! heh glad to know the hammers doing well. Will collect soon!
  23. look through the fw forums for 2nd hand deals on eheim canisters. Their classic range is relatively affordable and is one of their best selling range. ppl have been using their own eheim canisters for >10years w/o it breaking down. To me, tt's saving $$ in the LR.
  24. haha paiseh guys, haven't been checking my thread... the attempt to culture pods didn't make it due to poor water quality. Oh wells, maybe when I find the mood to try again will embark on it later on Anyway just to update my plans for the tank this year, just concentrate on maintaining status quo and add afew corals now and then... I have to concentrate my savings on other stuff, so yeah... In the meantime, just decided to snap some shots of my mandarin. Realise his pointed dorsal fin comes out when he's 'hunting' his food. Really slow eater, only manages to eat ~3-4 mysis daily. He really hunts them down and only strikes when the food stops moving. Hope that between the mysis and my meagre pods in the tank is enough nutrition for him. So far everything looks alright to me...
