  1. Good point bino Maybe LFS are doing something better than us due to their large water systems, or maybe it's really just a coincidence. Whichever the case, it's good for NSW users to document their experiences here so bros can make a more informed decision on their part whether they want to continue with NSW. I'm glad we're giving more thought to this rather than just assuming that the oil spill has an impact on quality of our NSW period. NSW users pls take this opportunity to chime in! Btw, I always advocate saltmix. D-D H2Ocean!
  2. bro mine was done by Ian from I-Aquatics. Solid workmanship, price also v. solid... haha >5 blue notes for 4000+ L/hr overflow. I don't like my sump to be messy, so my sump only has filter sock (yet to be installed), carbon, phosphate media and biohome.
  3. bro fyi, SW needs alot more flow than FW tanks. And I really mean alot. +1 to comments above as well!
  4. ooh yes this is the model. Nifty little device that sits on the tank bracing.
  5. For all NSW users or bros planning to use NSW, would like to bring out that since the oil spill (that has been cleared up) a couple of weeks ago, a few bros have reported fishes dying with unknown reasons after doing WC with NSW. There is no proof that there is oil residue in NSW that are causing harm to the fishes, however I do not believe in coincidences as well. Perhaps more bros can chime in here on their experiences, if any. In the meantime, in spite of the lack of evidence against the hypothesis, I suggest to bros here to use salt mix with RO/DI water.
  6. I think the majority of auto feeders out in the market w/o air pump or moisture control will still clump up pellets. Doesn't matter whether the pellets are added dry.
  7. Bro for your tank size don't need skimmer. Just do 10-20% water change every 2-3 days will be good. skimmer and wavemaker are 2 different pieces of equipments serving 2 purposes. You still need a wavemaker to circulate water in your tank, providing the 'current' for your corals. The return of a skimmer is not powerful enough or provide a wide enough flow for that.
  8. Can try Eheim auto feeder, although it is rather expensive. If you are interested, a friend and myself are looking around for the same product, hopefully can get a better price if we pool tog.
  9. will update u when we meet lol my thinking was that my corals prob would't make it if my PO4 goes above 0.2ppm. Coz my PO4 shot up to 0.1ppm and tank was overrun by hair algae and red slime.
  10. Can ba, I thought PO4 levels shouldn't exceed 0.1 in the first place right? Think most of us have PO4 ranging ard the 0.03ppm range. btw off topic abit, when are we going lfs shopping?
  11. Lawrence, the PPM model has an error of up to 0.04ppm. Not v. suitable for us?
  12. bro my fishes all lived through my stupid mistake of hitting salinity of 1.030 without much side effects other than the pbt getting massive ich outbreak. Did your skimmer continue to skim as normal during this period? Prime suspect so far could be the NSW. Not too sure myself.
  13. Bro if you are really on a budget, anything can be a sump tank as long as it's hidden from view. Sump tank can simply be a pail hidden under the table if you want. Just food for thought Of course, a proper sump will be better coz you have partitions and other funky stuff to house all your filtration etc.
  14. lol thx guys! Good to know it's not just a ladies drink!
  15. Thx guys! Gonna buy 1 bottle to let her try tmr.
  16. guys I get your point. I repeat, I'm looking for ppl who have experience with the product. Thanks!
  17. lol guys, u all overreacting la... she goes for regular medical checkup so it's fine. I'm sure those of you who are working late and under constant stress know what I mean. Just wanted to ask on anyone who has experience drinking Yomeishu as a health tonic, that's all
  18. She will never agree to going down to the doc just because of this la. I think she's just mentally drained everyday, and losing out on sleep. I was like that in my previous job too, stress really manifests itself in many forms. Just hope that drinking this alcoholic tonic might improve things, so prob drop by NTUC tmr to buy it for her to try. Hoping to get first hand experience from bros here
  19. Hi guys, I know nuts about this product. My only knowledge comes from advertisements and reading some of ppl's experience posted online. Hope ppl who drink this product, or get it for their wives/mothers/gfs can help me out? My gf always feels tired easily, can't concentrate ever since she started out on this job of hers. I believe it's the stresses of the job and her not getting enough rest that is contributing to this lethargic state of hers. Just wanna find out your experiences in this drink? Also another question: can ladies continue to drink this during that time of the month? Any other things I need to take note of? And most imptly, where can I get it at (hopefully) the cheapest price? lol, I guess I'm just concerned.
  20. I agree. Would rather wait till all their checkers are out before I order mine. Actually I think prob need only PO4, CA, KH, MG and NO3 checkers. I don't see myself monitoring other parameters. Maybe Iodine at the most. (They already have it out, not sure if it is sensitive enough to measure at the low levels we need though)
  21. Bro I did a google map thread sometime back, hope it helps u. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84090
  22. Bro I have a huge clip on aquarium fan that's collecting dust in my storeroom (literally). http://freshnmarine.com.sg/estore/product_info.php?products_id=1135 Can give to you if you need.
  23. I'm a strong supporter of D-D salt too. good parameters and no residual left after mixing.
  24. can we have some pics on how the seafan is doing moss n jacky? ! Really hope to see you guys keeping it to some degree of success.
  25. Hey wilson, my splendid suffers from such pms bouts too. V. peaceful and fun to watch fish, but every now and then, will get pms and start a fight with fishes it deems to be bulliable. So far, that includes my flame wrasse, male and female lyretails. Nothing as serious as chasing and the occasional nipping though. Hope you sort out the leopard soon!
