More corals! My blue/violet hornets from lck opening up really nicely. Heard some reefers having problems with these. I put them under low/moderate light, low flow. Eagle eye frag doing opening up really nicely. Thx Reddevils! New purchase from lck today. My first venture into blastomussa. Hoping to get more exotic specimens in future!

Some new corals added over the last few weeks... I need to invest more in corals!!! Tank looks more like a fowlr now... Got a huge bubble from Iwarna. Healthy and lots of tentacles extending at night! Feeding on pellets and some mysis occasionally. White xenias from Iwarna too. I don't have v. good experiences with these. Anyway they are still surviving, but not really opening up. Hope they thrive in my tank.

bro care to share which thread it is? I don't think there is any lack in helping/advising reefers here. If really, I would assume that the post was prob not seen by most bros because it was a busy day and his thread got pushed down by a flood of other new topics. That's the reason why sellers in pasar malam always up their sales: so their thread don't get burried with new threads. Let's say you go to a party where you don't know anyone. Everyone seems to be talking in their own little groups. Do you try to mingle ard and get to know new friends? Or you sit in a corner and deduce that this party is not open to newcomers? I believe that it takes 2 hands to clap, and you will find that this community is not as cold as you assume. Just my 2 cents too bro

SPS tanks typically run calcium reactor because of the high calcium needs. If LPS/softies tank, can just dose calcium, reactor is a plus. Kalk reactor for kalkwasser. Some ppl run both CR n Kalk to balance the ph out. Again, my opinion is it's a plus. Fluidized reactors are run mainly with phosphate removing or carbon media. Both require different flow rates, so if you want, it's better to get 2. FR ensures your water flows through the media. Alternative is to place in sump. Again, FR is a plus. Denitrator is used to control nitrates. Basically it is a reactor with almost no oxygen, allowing for anaerobic bacteria to grow to breakdown no3. Can consider this if you have problems controling nitrates. Other alternatives are dsb, algae scrubber, refugium, or plain old water change. Up to you whether you wanna add these gizmos. No hard n fast rule.

how old is your tank bro? Could be new tank syndrome if just started not too long. Having low nutrients , cleanup crew, min. feeding should help to control your hair algae. If your bio-load too high, time to sell off some fishes.

dude your setup is scary... nice tank! but I see the chiller on top and my heart shudders... How about creating a small sump at the bottom so you have more space? Or do some plumbing from your IOS to run your water down where you have more space to place equipment?
