  1. In other words you have no time frame as to when you wanna build it? Hope you don't mind me giving this advice... Don't fall into the trap of planning for the perfect tank. Might end up always chasing after the best and newest technology/equipment/way of thinking, then end up no tank at all coz its a neverending cycle. Or by the time you get down to building the tank, some other factor comes in like kena posted overseas, or wife don't allow (when you have settled down) etc. I suppose the good part out of this is you prob save some sweat and money Best is to keep it simple, have the basic idea, talk to tankmaker on design, do up all the fail safe, you're good to go. I love planning too! but I prefer looking at my fishes swimming and corals swaying
  2. lol hedge hogs! anyway bro, the easiest for u is to draw everything out, see if you have the space. Chiller in cabinet needs to be well ventilated, can install fan like Jacky to help. No need to think so much la, otherwise xmas come n go still no tank. If you are really undecided, why not get one of the reputable LFS to build for you?
  3. hehe okok my bad... hmm anyway to link chiller to outside your window so the heat goes out? I still think its overkill for a ~120G total gallonage system. Save electricity! not to mention save the bills!
  4. they have 1/2hp units that are all compressor units la bro... can put outside your house...
  5. 1/2 HP also got compressor unit ma...
  6. bro 1/2 HP is already overkill for your tank la...
  7. ayez... i know, just hoping. btw Peter you should just setup ure own thread la... haha so many nice corals
  8. Does it matter? They will roam ard to find their favourite spot. If they end up together, good for you.
  9. They will grow pui pui in no time! Low flow, moderate light, mine open up prob ard 4"!
  10. Agreed. External skimmer, external pump, everything external. easy to maintain and also less heat generated.
  11. I learn not to be so stress or bothered by such stuff le... just do my best and if cannot then cannot lor... Suspect my wrasses are the culpruits. They have been nipping on all my corals in their bid to find more food... Maybe I don't feed them enough... tt's why whole day keep searching for food in and ard my corals.
  12. wah your fts beri nice Have fun with the ducks n mice!
  13. Rhinos doing good. Suns not so good... Think I'm gonna do the tupperware method tonight le... And my elegance showing signs of elegance disease... sad sad day
  14. lol I offer mine! With gourmet international seafood buffet all day long
  15. Anyone got toyogo box can lend? I need to cycle my new rocks for at least 1 week coz of the die off during tpt anyway...
  16. yeah do it the CF way! but that still doesn't solve the sedentariate polychaete worms problem. The fastest way is to inspect every rock closely and keep those that are not affected and changing the rest. but I don't have such a big pot to cook them in! My rocks are all big ones... maybe put in oven and roast... lol
  17. more like "shingz" Anyway bro, glad you are gonna keep the 5ft. Just take your time to add corals/fishes. Will take quite a while to stock up, not to mention $$. Slow and Easy
  18. heh so u will cover my insurance if anything goes wrong? jk jk, anyway it will be good to rescape also la... my current rocks v. hard to put corals on unless I glue them... Hopefully get new rocks with more holes in them
  19. haha not only my pests mati, my fishes and corals all mati together... no more bacteria...
  20. If you can find a willing buyer or buyers, could be possible. Otherwise, if no demand, you prob can only sell off the chiller and maybe return pumps
  21. errm replace them with new live rock? lol Gonna be my dec 'hols' project upgrading my fishes house from condo to landed property... hopefully they like their new homes, and improve the flow in my tank. btw it's 1.5ft PLUS. coz i have not seen the tail, and it was already occupying half the length of my tank...
  22. Planning a rescape of my tank with some quality live rock from some of the bros here I know take the opportunity to get rid of my 1.5ft+ worm hiding inside my rocks and some pests (Jacky if I were you, I would try to get rid of them too, they are the same as the ones you have in your tank... My 10+ stalks have spread to over 100+ in less than 3 weeks) Anyone wants to help contribute with optic power (copyrighted by Jacky)?
