Up for Sun! Thanks for those who have shown interest so far. To reiterate on some queries, tank is in 9/10, almost new condition. No visible scratches. Feel free to come down to view the tank first, no obligations. Some of you have expressed interest in adding in equipment. I have a spare 4 x T5 lightset (4x 6mth old ati tubes + 2x new Giseman tubes), 2x royal blue LED strips and aquabee 2000 chiller pump that I might be willing to let go for another $200. Drop me a PM or SMS to discuss, thanks!

I advocate using this product, it is neat and compact. I've never had any problems with nitrates after using it. Of course you also need sensible stocking levels. IMO, just get the normal ones, the red ones used for startups are not worth the additional $$.

I know the pros on bigger tank and all The mother's been nagging at me to decomm coz she wants to renovate the living room and to quote her: "the fish tank's not in her plans". She has grudgingly agreed to giving me a small space at the balcony, so bobian also la... just make do with what I have! Anyway, it's gonna be alittle different from the normal cubes you see, so look out for it!

nopez... downgrading. no time to look after my tank at all! and hopefully smaller tank will spend less $$ on jewels Everything's still in the planning stage now...

Need help to choose wave maker
comycus replied to tanit's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
Whilest I'm a big fan of the Wavebox, I think 2 synced MP40s would work better in your case. Go for it! better still, maybe get the upcoming MP60! -

wah bro... go low maintainence la, why so fast decomm! All your efforts on researching and building up your tank, would be a waste to decomm.

IMHO 1. It is alarming that the unit failed on 2 occasions within 2 months. Reason being: this is not a new product using new technology here. 2. Distributor should have spare units or spare parts on hand to cater to most problems. The reason why I would purchase the equipment from a local distributor is so that my problems can be fixed locally. Otherwise I might as well have bought the unit from the overseas company directly. 3. The logistics of shipping was efficient. I would attribute this to good communication channels between AM and EcoLamps, EcoLamps maintaining good stocking levels and the impeccable delivery standards of the logistics provider used.

Help needed - Changing of Hang-On filter
comycus replied to andez07's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
1. yes you can change to a new filter. ONLY wash and clean using your old seawater. If you use tap water, will have to restart your cycling process. 2. If you follow above, no need to restart cycling. 3. No, it shouldn't as you should not have disturbed your bacteria colony. To be kiasu, just dose in some bacteria. -
lol agree totally... was lucky to get a short getaway to Shanghai recently. I tell u, these Chinese babes are sm king hot!

There are quite a few brands in the market now. Locally, think our LFSes have only brought in Ecolamp, Maxspect, Lumen Aqua so far. To me, good aftersales service support and quality of product are a must if I'm going to invest top dollar in a LED light set. LED technology has come a long way, it is no longer a first gen or 2nd gen product. Likewise, I would expect a relatively fuss free experience if Murphy ever strikes. The last thing I want to do is worry about warranty period and delivery hiccups. My experience in LEDs are only limited to my Maxspect set. So far so good. Won't dilute this thread, but you can do a quick search on the forum for reviews of it or Lumen Aqua before making your decision.

Why so many reefer crazy over wrasses ?
comycus replied to braincoral's topic in General Reefkeeping_
There are equally as many angel, tang and butterfly lovers out there. Doesn't matter what species, if you like it, it's special.
