Koji yours are suns (tubastrea), and the ones u got from GO are supersuns (dendrophyllia).
Rhizos (Rhizotrochus) are what we have been talking about in the last 2 pages
It's not a good idea to expose their tentacles to air. Do it underwater.
But then again, Rhizos are v. easy to feed. I guess I will just feed them more the next few days and see what happens
Dunno why think their tentacles come out longer in photos when they appear to be hanging. Maybe try to put them sideways also.
btw, the rhizo looks really poor thing... The flesh really start to recede le. Hope you manage to nurse them back to their glory days!
I've been doing some research on these corals. It seems they can stand v. high flow, and laminar ones as well Hope my new scaping has good spot to put them in!
yeah I was thinking this would be great for keeping a NPS tank like SLCW's.
Cannot build low cabinet la... the idea is the tank is the coffee table itself. Maybe pump out water to a refugium (tt can act as a side table ) to filtrate, skim and chill. And build some sort of fake floor platform to hide the pipes. wah idea... Gonna try to explore this in future when I get my own house.
put them higher up? Rhizos don't mind light... Minie's under direct lightings, not affected at all, still opens up during feeding time. In fact, think I've finally trained it to open up the whole day. The tentacles seem to be searching for food all the time.
If 4 ppl take cab in from pasir ris mrt, ask uncle to wait ~20min to look see and buy whatever you wanna buy, each person prob only fork out $3-4 max. v. reasonable
Or can be like me... I bladed out once... hahaa caution: the road is super bumpy
I know there are many constraints, like lighting, salt splash, skimmer, filtration etc.
Just day dreaming here... nice concept right? Will toy around with it in my mind to see the feasibility
Thx to bro nuclearfibre! The tentacles are not at their longest actually. It grows about double the size when lights are out. I should try to snap a shot with my living room lights on to see it in its true beauty
I'm looking for pure white rhizo. Anyone has can let go to me?
Think I will reduce the flow... Come to think of it, this only happened after I increased flow, albeit gradually. Hopefully it helps my elegance fatten up
I don't want it to bail out of it's skeleton too... go around stinging my corals...
Then just switch on your blue lights Will have shocking red shrooms.
Just based on my experience, the intense red comes and goes. Also not sure why. If you find out how to make them bright red 100% of the time, I would be interested to know too.
pic of my elegance. Not opening as big as before. And you can see some of the tentacles shrinking... Anyone care to help me diagnose if this is indeed elegance disease?
My red shrooms also have the same issue. Their colours come and go. Some dAys bright red, other days quite dull. I wouldn't be too concerned. Mine is in medium light low flow areA
