  1. Why not we just share 1? I'm looking for luminous gsp to cover my back wall too
  2. Would like to suggest modifying our search function to include the ability to search within threads. I think this will be good when searching through long threads, and hopefully encourage members to be more active in looking for information rather than posting repeated questions. A good example of this will be on RC, where members can "search this thread".
  3. If I were rich, I would air freight in a pallet of corals Anyway it won't take months to reach la... especially indo/phillipines shipment kind. Shipping nowadays also v. efficient. Get a 'reefer' to tpt your corals also can.
  4. Using my old trusty nikon D60. hahaa i give you shrimp, crab not enough, now you want me give you prawn? Anyway I have decided to start mb7/vodka dosing. Intend to increase my feedings as mandarin doesn't seem to be getting enough food and target feeding my LPS. Don't think my current setup will allow me to maintain nitrates below 10ppm with this change. At the same time, I will start dosing Vit C. Some of my zoas seem to be losing their colours, so hopefully it works! Since I'm going to be doing all these on a daily basis, I will also be dosing small amts of calcium magnesium and reef builder on alternate days. Time to get my lazy butt working and building tt dream tank! Will try to provide some updates along the way...
  5. you sure it's a twenty footer? Maybe it's forty footer? lol but shipment container shouldn't be tt big right? Just guessing...
  6. lol I'm sure there are many zoa lovers here too to share with you
  7. lol got la... I think CAD Lights and CADE are different companies. One is US based, the other is from China. But yes, I am looking at CADE Tanks too if I ever get a new tank in future. One senior reefer here ordered a tank with quite a good review. Since we are on this, must say that the CADE rimless tanks looks v. professionally done. The silicon work is minimal and has a touch of ELOS.
  8. bro males will have extra-elongated first dorsal spine. V. obvious. If can provide clearer pic will be easy to ID.
  9. They will look different under different lightings. Think Bro Cedric has ensured that he has them correctly ID-ed. The best way to determine is definitely to go down in person to see. It is definitely not a Candy Apple.
  10. lol i'm hoping for the day I can afford a 6 footer. Not just to afford the tank, but the space in the house to put it in. hmmm it's so blue tt it washes out every other colour. I want to capture the blue effect, but also want to capture the luminous colours. Maybe I need to photoshop. Have been pretty lazy in taking my photos lately. Just resize and post them up... Think I need to give my tank a good scrub or your girls will say this kor kor's (not uncle! haha) tank v. dirty n ugly
  11. Too strong flow. If you do not shift it to a lower flow area, the mushroom will get dislodged from its current rock and float away. Shrooms prefer low flow, low light areas. When they are happy, will open up again to its former size.
  12. ok I did some reading up on jawfish... he could be burrowing everywhere coz your sand's not deep enough. Apparantly they need a minimum of 3-4 inches of sand along with rock rubble and shells to construct a burrow. The rock rubble and shells are presumably to reinforce the burrow so it doesn't collapse. With your shallow sandbed, maybe it's simply just not happy/secured with its current home, so migrates elsewhere. If you intend to keep it, might need to add more sand in one corner or something. Maybe even add in pvc pipes hidden into the sand. This method has worked for some ppl, and once it's settled in, you wouldn't even notice the pipe.
  13. lol this one I agree. Hopefully I stop paying sch fees le I think quite a lot of LPS don't appreciate high flow. If their flesh moves quite vigorously, most prob need to put them in lower flow.
  14. hahaa It's really not tt much cheaper after doing the math. and market prawn stinks! My concern for this product is it's "pasteurized". Can the gurus out there confirm if this is ok? I understand that the process is to reduce the number of pathogens in the product. Any adverse side effects as a result of this process? As far as I can discern, no preservatives were added.
  15. haha bro you are welcome to take more from me this weekend. The expiry date is till end Jan 2010 so I definitely cannot finish so much. Offer extends to Jacky and Nigel (or anyone else who wants) when you come over to my place too btw, it may not be as expensive as Alaskan snow or king crab, but here's an excerpt on the high quality crab claw meat I'm feeding: Our Pacific Cove and Tropic Bay brands of crabmeat start with “live†Blue Swimming Crabs from the Indo-West Pacific. While some may claim their crabmeat comes from “Blue Swimming Crabsâ€, there is only one true Blue Swimmer…the species Portunus pelagicus. This species is the most sought-after of the imported crab species. While there are other crab species available in the same catching areas, the texture and flavor of these other crabs are inferior to the texture and taste of the true Blue Swimmer. For this reason, our Pacific Cove and Tropic Bay brands are exclusively 100% Blue Swimming crab. Sounds like gourmet stuff to my corals!
  16. Yup, I must say Vincent's strips provided a budget alternative for poor ppl like me Build is solid for it's price, and the acrylic support stand is a nice finishing touch. The luminous effect on my corals especially my zoas are pretty amazing. I love looking at my tank after 11.30pm when only the LEDs are on But still cannot figure out how to capture the effect on camera... Anyone can share how you take photos under your royal blue leds?
  17. An external thermostat will be good especially for 2nd hand Resun chiller. Also what's your set temperature range? If you set a range of 0.5 degrees, it will kick start more often than a range of 2.0 degrees. depending on what species of fish and corals you keep, if it's not deepwater species, you can set your temperature btw 26-28.
  18. I wouldn't mind rescaping if I had the time to, especially since yours is a nano. But if real estate is expensive in your tank and your sandbed commands extra premium, then bye bye jawfish. There are plenty of other pretty fishes out there tt u can get w/o the headache.
  19. Lol how come I teach you to be kiasi... Have you figured out how to set your wb? Im having trouble with mine now...
  20. Its either the hermit or the snails... your choice hahaa otherwise the hermit will take care of the decision for you.
  21. Can't help it... I really love this copperband!
  22. Decided to start feeding my LPS... Couldn't find any silver fish at supermarket though, so I bought this instead. Cost a bomb, but rhizo was v. happy eating it. Look a its tentacles! I think after a few weeks of feeding can look forward to really long tentacles! Guess tt means I'm keeping my rhizo for the time being. Sorry for lousy photos, I haven't figured out my camera settings taken under blue LED, anyone can help?
  23. Must have been a busy sunday bro. Any updates for us?
  24. Most prob to curb aggression amongst the fishes. Bro can update us your husbandry?
