  1. Since we can't persuade you to not keep cleaner shrimps... you wanna buy my pair? I'm gonna sell mine away. Both are about 4-5cm long excluding their feelers, and in healthy condition. Just molted ard 5 days ago. Drop me a PM if interested.
  2. Blue/blue should be good enough. Reason for getting actinic is to get the luminous effect, but it goes away v. quickly. Otherwise can consider 2 supplement strips of Royal blue LEDs?
  3. Thanks bro! I will try tonight and see what happens
  4. haha wait for universal studio lor, will have as many effects as you want I remember the last time I was in BKK's siam ocean there was this 3d thingy for kids tt had mist splashing in my face! mildly irritateing actually Oh now I remember... it's not just 3d, but 4d With sensory experience as the 4th d i guess.
  5. bro your coral banded shrimp never bother your snails?
  6. duno why i keep advertising... disclaimer: I dunno this seller at all! but... someone's selling his deltec ap851 i think if you're interested. Can look into it!
  7. He's trying to breed some kind of amphibious red ants in there okok jokes aside, how's the refugium setup going?
  8. Technically speaking, reading on the thermometer in the tank is more accurate. Coz tt's the end reading you want to know, not the chiller temperature reading. But sometimes how do you know which temperature is accurate? Maybe chiller thermostat is spoilt, or external thermometer is also spoilt... lol
  9. Maybe just to set your expectations right, the cleaner shrimps is neither a prevention nor cure for white spots or parasite-related diseases. Even if it does reduce some likelihood of the diseases, it will be moot once they start feeding. Like many other lifestock, once they are trained to eat prepared foods, they lose their 'instinct' and stop hunting, in this case, cleaning. Nevertheless, cleaner shrimp is also a good clean up crew if you don't mind their voracious apetite because they eat almost anything, so can help you scavenge your rocks/sandbed.
  10. you must be feeding your tank some steriods rite the bubble is more amazing in person! really  Great tank you have bro!
  11. They will set up cleaning station in the beginning. Nice to see. After they get used to your feedings, won't do much cleaning already. Only know how to snatch food from your fishes and corals... lol Mine don't even go near my fishes anymore.
  12. hmm from what temperature to what temperature? Pretty impressive actually. For your future reference I guess, coz this chiller recommended flow is 900-3600L/hr.
  13. wah bro so fast planning another tank already!
  14. Hey digibee, read tt you are using eheim 1000 to power your chiller. Yours is a 1/10hp right? If it is, I think it's way too underpowered for your Arctica. How long does it take to chill your tank?
  15. I would say 10-20x would be sufficient. Just fyi, anemones require strong lightings and good flow. What lights are you using?
  16. Gratz bro! So how big are we looking at? 4ft? I remember someone selling Deltec ap851 here if you are looking for overkill Actually if you can't get discount with cash/nets, swipe credit card to get more points ah!
  17. hahaa tt's cool! Just can't help thinking about "Wheel of Time" series when I see this phrase... Anyone is a Robert Jordan fan here too? Maybe Robert Jordan also borrowed this phrase from some culture.
  18. Yes you are right if you need more movement in the tank. Hmmm technically, the flowrate into your sump (turnover) also determines how often your tankwater is 'turned over' and cleaned by your filtration/skimmer. SPS keepers like to keep this at least at 20x. In your case, shouldn't really matter much
  19. heh bro we never said more biohome will crash tank
  20. I suggest trochus snails, sand shifting seastar, sand dollars. Cleaning shrimps depends on your preference. Many of us find them particularly irritating as they always snatch food away from my fishes/corals. Entertaining in the beginning, but once the novelty wears off, it's quite irritating.
  21. I watched on xmas day with my gf... 14 bucks also plus the online booking fee... Cinemas know how to chop ppl... Luckily we didn't get headache, but took a good 30min to settle into the 3d effect. I must say the movie turned out surprisingly good for both of us! Anyone went back to watch a second/third time?
  22. Yes you can do tt. recommended flowrate should be 900l/hr - 3600l/hr for the chiller. going through chiller back to tank will slow down your return flowrate by abit, so it's just a preference: if you need extra flow into your tank, then get a more powerful pump. Otherwise you're fine.
  23. yeah, add too much bacteria can result in bacteria bloom. The tank will get cloudy, and oxygen levels may drop in your tank. The reason they bloom and die off is because your tank don't have enough 'food' for them. tt's why when adding fishes, ppl always say add slowly, so that the bacteria can grow to accomodate the additional bioload.
  24. You can add as much biohome as you want, but the bacteria colony in your tank will reach an optimal amt regardless of how much extra biohome you have. Doesn't mean more space for bacteria to colonise means will have more bacteria. So no need to waste too much $ on additional biohome. If you are really kiasu, I think 2kg is the max your 2ft will really need.
