  1. I know powders are fairly aggressive when established. You will want to add them in later. They are also v. prone to ich and should not be tried in a new tank as you won't want to give them additional stress when the tank has not stabilised yet. The standard advice is to wait ~ 1 year for your tank to mature before thinking of quarantining and adding a powder tang in.
  2. lol i guess t1t for tat la... maybe she bought some branded vacum cleaner and told you it was old stock and selling off at 50%.
  3. Nice meeting you Justin Think Victor's has done up a really nice scaping for you. Clean up crew next! Let me know if you need test kits yeah?
  4. The ELOS tank itself is also expensive. Still cannot consider low cost w/o the LED lights and chiller. ELOS is nice, but not cost effective if budget is low.
  5. wow bro ure scape looks v. nice wad... means your next rockscape will be even more power! to your patience in setting up your tank man!
  6. wow u got a good queue #? congrats! sigh... all the $$ involved really v. stressful...

'sparkle sparkle' lol so funny... then she say she also want... not so funny anymore. hahahaa yeah will try to drop by one of these days to see how your tank's doing. In the meantime, v. busy at work. Trying to work hard to get promotion and pay raise!
  10. +1 Since you are on a budget, go for either Prizm or AquaC remora 2nd hand. They offer so called all in one solutions in 1 piece of equipment at a reasonable price. Downside is they are known to be quite noisy. For such a small tank, Just DIY a CPU fan to maintain temperature. Things to take note of: Small tank, Smaller room for error, harder to maintain good water quality, more husbandry required, tank crash easier. So do read up more before plunging in!
  11. lol everytime i check ure tank threads sure feel the urge to go lfs shopping. Luckily my credit card bills arrive already... hahaa prob all my corals budget for the year spent already...
  12. congrats on the new tank bro! So what equipment are we expecting?

  14. Look on the bright side bro, better to find out now, than to find out at the end of the month when you receive your utilities bill We all learn from each other's mistakes, to everyone's advantage!
  15. lol bro you should sell it la... use mce600 for pico lol
  16. lol one of our sponsors always post v. nice pics of exotic brains for sale
  17. Yup Markietan's right. Sorry Pweesng, have been really busy at work, haven't had the chance to visit src. Adjusting the skimmer cup and and air valve is quite tricky actually. I find that i get the best skimming for my tank when my air valve is open full at 12 o'clock and skimmer cup is adjusted about 4 finger widths from the top of skimmer cup to top of skimmer body (If you can visualize it)
  18. wow your snail marks really v. obvious! hmm, usually I just lean mine off with my magnetic cleaner. But dunno why they seldom go on my glass anymore, prefer to stay on my rocks. Hope you find more nice rocks soon!
  19. woo! v. nice flashing lemon What's your current fish list now? Can update us?
  20. bro some things cannot take shortcut yeah? Anyway, just a few points to note. 1. You need live rocks as bio filtration for bacteria to colonize. Which means in your case, you never cycled the tank at all since you added your livestock in the same day as your live rocks. 2. Cycling process typically take 4-6 weeks. Don't add anything into your tank in this period of time. Don't make the same mistake twice. If you are a heavy smoker, you don't die from lung cancer immediately. Same analogy here, the fish may look fine, but you are slowly poisoning it. 3. You sound like you understand the ANN cycle, so stick to it. Wait till ammonia and nitrite levels are zero, and your tank parameters are stable before adding anything.
  21. Woo! I think I will pay a visit to BPP tonight or tmr then
