  1. lol so fast!?!? anyway it's fri already! TGIF
  2. Nope, Biohome shouldn't contribute to NO3. It's quite a popular choice for bio filtration because it's supposed to be v. porous, good to cultivate bacteria. My personal preference over bioballs any day.
  3. Nice meeting you bro Bite the upgrading bullet soon? I'm sure it will be good for you to keep AT and harems of anthias, wrasses
  4. bro your compositions all v. nice anyway, ever considered replacing the bio balls with biohome?
  5. 1) Changing water - I am staying in Jurong (West), is there any LFS around the West, which I can easily purchase pre-make Seawater. Or, is there any Brand of Sea Salt easy to mix/dilute? I remember during last time buying Seawater from the LFS in West Coast, but notice is no longer there. I think Henry at Marine Life does sell SW. Can check him up in our sponsors. 2) Light - I notice LED Light are getting popular and easy. Consider my above Set up, what LED Light is suitable? If you are keeping Anemone, you need strong light. LED is suitable, do consider the ones that our sponsors currently market, think majority of them would fit your needs. 3) Skimmer - is Tunze 9002 is ok for a 1.5 FT Cube Tank (approx: 72 ltrs) and Sump Tank (approx: 40 ltrs). Think 9002 is good enough for you, although you can consider other skimmers which could clean out more junk. For example, I love my MCE600 4) Live Sand - any recomendation and advise? depends on your budget. Not a must have, but many consider good to have. 5) Chiller - I still have this Artica DB50 (1/15hp) with me, it is ok for 1.5 FT Cube Tank? How old is it? When was it last serviced? You might need to get it serviced and see if it is in good condition. 1/15 should be just nice for 1.5 cube. 6) General Maintenance - beside weekly water change, what supplement/elements do I has to take note? For now, just concentrate on water changes. They should replenish your elements. Would advice against keeping tube worms for the time being as they require almost constant feeding.
  6. Peter your macro shots are incredible
  7. haha u want? mine is almost 2 open palm size big already I have green with white polka dot also, n other weird looking variations
  8. mmmm turtle queen anthias! drop me a sms when u wanna go down, will see if I can join u. But must warn u first, quite busy nowadays...
  9. thx bro! gonna do a much needed water change this weekend, and clean my equipment. will cya later for lunch
  10. haha gratz on the new tank! More prime land for your jewels!! my tank also got alot of jewels... v. exotic looking algae no kidding, some of them actually look nice, not gonna remove them. Just do some pruning occasionally.
  11. I would add the 6 line and dottyback last, and there will still be a risk of them being too aggressive for their tankmates due to the small tank size. Just wondering, if you're already adding Mccosker, why do you wanna add carpenter since it looks alittle like mccosker, just less brillant?
  12. Since your return pump will go through chiller first, then back to main tank, you it's powerful enough. I would check your chiller min. flowrate, and bump it up by ~30%. Think 1/5 chiller for a 1.5 cube is way way way overkill.
  13. lol don't worry guys, will stick around At least I gave my tank a good scrub last night, it's finally clean again! Gotta start working on getting rid of the red slime now.
  14. +1 Even Henry feeds his fishes this way. Attaching a surface skimmer and reduced feeding would solve the problem long term. For now, you can just use tissue paper and drag it along the surface to remove the oil film.
  15. lol I always loved reading tank diaries and all the beautiful pics ma keep the pics coming bro! yeah... have really been busy with work and gf. Tank taking a backseat now. Anyone wants to buy exotic looking algae can look for me, I have many many nice looking ones growing in my tank
