  1. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_di...&pcatid=565 Its really subjective... some ppl had no problems with their bumblebees, others had experiences eating snails, zoas etc. For me, I just stay clear to give myself more peace of mind. 'Have not eaten" does not equate to "will not eat in future".
  2. hmm more info can be found on liveaquaria or other forums too. I think it's unlikely that the info is wrong.
  3. As long as it is well fed, it won't disturb your inverts... Otherwise it might start feeding on them, they are carnivorous. If you are looking for snails to aerate your sandbed and clear detritus, nassarius snails are better as they are scavengers. There are many other clean up crews I would choose over bumble bee snail coz of their carnivorous nature.
  4. bro lemon, btw how often does your urchin poop? haha just a slight warning for those wanting to keep urchin... Don't know about the rest, but my urchin poops at least 2-3 times a day, and everytime his 'sandy' looking poop will cloud the water for prob sometime. Fascinating for the first few times, after a while, I just wish he pooped less and not dirty my water... lol
  5. haha i have handled them before... i guess is at your own risk... When they feel threatened, the spines turn from soft to hard n quite possibly, sharp. And once you get a hold of them, they are super sticky, had to shake quite hard to get it out of my fingers. btw, trying to move them off a rock is almost impossible... their spines like super glued to the rock! Then again... I heard that if your urchin's spines are falling off, not sticky anymore, it means it's not healthy. Hope it helps
  6. Should let your tank finish cycling before adding in anything. Even if it survives, its cruel to put them in a toxic environment. My urchin doesn't disturb any of my corals so far. Their spines are constantly searching ard, and usually leave the corals alone when they 'feel' them.
  7. lol my tank got no shortage of algae ever since I started flooding my tank with food in my furtile attempt to get the yellow clown goby to eat. waah bro u walking dictionary for scientific name sia... thx for identifying my true octo too!
  8. wow thanks for the ID! hmmm it's reef safe with caution... will cya tmr morning yeah bro? thx for holding the frag for me
  9. Dunno what urchin mine is, but I must say they are really hardworking! And entertaining. My sunflower frag is on it now... grrr gonna try to take it out later tonight
  10. When cycling, you don't need to switch on your lights, this will help to reduce the amt of algae growing if you are doing so. When adding your snails remember not to add too many all together. Otherwise they will starve once they finish eating your algae. And have plenty of empty shells lying ard if you are getting hermit crabs unless you want them to eat up your snail for their shells.
  11. wow the tentacles really look sweeping! now I have to plan properly on where to put the frag... Will collect the frag this weekend yeah?
  12. wow bro, we need a fts to show your glorious fishes!
  13. Great stuff! Can't wait to see his completed scape and stocking up. Thanks for sharing with us bro!
  14. wow bro! you actually got to see the tank in person! (were you helping out with the scaping? the SRC mafia? ) any more pics to show? Totally wacked project that I follow daily in RC. Those rocks look awesome!
  15. Bro can try Reborn if looking for LS at Lavender.
  16. I use reef roids. Just squirt into their mouth. My brain open big big after feeding... Once or twice a week is good enough.
  17. Bro I have a 1.5 cube 6mm, can let go at $25. you interested? <6 months, I would say condition is almost like new. Can take some pics send to you if you're interested.
  18. heh waking up early on sun morning has its perks
  19. Nice Zoas collection bro. Is that your carpet at the back? awesome specimen you have! get more rocks la! then can put more gems
  20. I have no idea what mine feed on... they just eat my leftover food I guess... How will you know if they are starving? Btw, bumblebee snails are carnivorous too, so if they are hungry, I heard might prey on some of your coral or fishes.
  21. ahhh ok thx thx! At least the price not as crazy as what I see online... Will wait for it then, not really in a hurry to get it anyway, still have to slowly stock up the tank
  22. What works best for me is to make sure I give all my attention to my gf first. When she happy, I can happily go do my stuff in peace. Of course at the end of the day, have to come out with some sort of balance. I think its cool that both your bf and yourself are keen in the hobby together! Remember to read up more, and maintain discipline when buying, feeding, cleaning. Happy reefing!
