  1. Thanks bro I will go check again. THe floating particles seem to be tiny dirt. Regards quote name='ReDDeviLs' date='Nov 11 2009, 05:10 AM' post='844187'] hi bro, they shouldnt b noisy. the artica chiller may more or less give out soem noise. as for the floating particles, r they micro bubble or dirt?
  2. Hi all, would like to ask if deltec ap851+ artica chiller quarter horse power and calcium reactor would be noisy? My setup's mechanical drone seems to be relatively loud. Haha maybe gotta measure the decibels b4 post. : ) Also, suggestions on what i can do to reduce the floating particles? Not so obvious at night when "ha light" is off. Thanks for reading.
  3. yes bro indeed you are right. I meant two returning pipes back to the same sump but from both the right and left sides of the tank. Guess the two return pumps are important though in case of breakdown or something. Oh ya btw did you get to talk to seet yesterday? : ) Cheers!
  4. Hi all, would like to ask if anyone has done this in case one pump ceased working or if any overflow area gets jammed? regards, Aw
  5. Thanks for advice bro, will wait out and listen to more from fellow enthusiasts before committing. : ) cheers!
  6. wah, the more I read the replies the more confused and sceptical I get.... No experience at all with any LFS as I diyed the last one.... Haizz.... Thanks bros. * throws a dice and bo heng suay liaos... Hahaha
  7. Yeah, I have to agree that LFC partnering others for setup sounds logical... Ii have actually now gotten a few quotations; one from Aqua Marin, ##### and Marinelife. Meeting the personnel from Aquarium Artist to discuss tomorrow. My budget is abt < 10k. Also, can you guys advise me on the need for a chiller? I mean I know that it keeps the temperature suitable esp for corals but I have also seen some setups from reputable LFC without chiller but with corals as well? Thanks for inputs bros. Regards
  8. Hi all, just wanna know if Reef Depot usually engages Aquarium Artist to build their tanks and setup? Apparently Depot is the supplier and Artist does the setup? The bro from artist told me that he will be using deltec equipment which i have never used myself before. Are they really good? Regards, Awct
  9. Currently looking at Aqua Marin, Reef Depot, #####, Marine Life Hobbyist and this online store Fish N Friends ( wonder if anybody has any feedback and experience on this online store though)
  10. Haha, I see. Thanks bros, will certainly keep this in mind before I commit myself to any shop cos I really do want good after sales service and not "hit and run" kind. Have spoken to some shops and will certainly bear your opinions in mind b4 decision. thank you all very much. Oh ya, any inputs on which shops that you may feel have good after sales service? can pm me if deem too sensitive to be posted openly.
  11. Haha, I am sorry but I didnt mean it that way bro... : ) no offences to any bros reading this cos I certainly didn't think that the display tank was lousy as in layout etc, only that there were not many display tanks to look at ( I suppose due to space constraints as well.) In fact I was impressed with the sheer sizes of the fishes they have in the big black tank with the bolts and works. Maybe its because I am looking at not just the tank but also the cabinet as in overall look of the tank... keke thats why. Anyway, I just spoke to Steve and he is very helpful and will assist me in trying to do something for me. Oh, I dun have " high taste" in that sense; just wanted to get a quotation for a cabinet and hassle free setup that matches my new home design and of course at a " cheap, green, big, next door" price! Haha. Thing is my current set up was very much custom made and DIY-ed during my renos then and I busted my budget. Yet still, I found my tank rather wanting as I did not manage to be able to keep corals, only fish and shrimps thats why I seek kind opinion and input here. Thank you for your replies and input bro, I really appreciate you not concluding that I am a snob cos I am not. Cheers!
  12. Thanks, appreciate your reply. Would you have any idea what kind of damage would Reef Depot be inflicting approximately for a 5ft "cabinet to the ceiling" kind? Went to the Aquamarin shop at Jln Kayu but wasn't very impressed by the display tank there. No offence. They are really good? Regards
  13. No one has any inputs on good service, reasonable pricing and shops which are " good" etc? I currently am running a 5x2.5x2.5 tank but it was kinda DIY. Shifting house so thought I will leave it to the pro for a hassle free one this time. Would appreciate any input really.... : (
  14. Hi enthusiats, NOt sure where to post this so.. Can anyone give me some recommendations for a 5ft tank set up with cabinet for home? Thanks!
