nah...no replacement, being running my tank without any skimmer for the last 3 days, the no3 is at 100, going to change 20-30% of water today, but all LS is still ok...anyway going to pick up my skimmer from the shop tonite. Thank you guys!

yes! its used, the pump seems to be working fine, sorry no dc... its creating foam at around the neck level, but its not collecting anything inside the cup..hmmm...and with the tuning, I've put the pipe to the max level... will try and borrow an d.c and give a better view of the situation. many thanks !!!

I've bought a Euroreef skimmer, being running it for almost a month now but it not collecting anything? checked with few people already, the water level is about 1.5 ft in my slump..and everything set according to the seller. really donno what esle I can do, but fortunately all Live stock is still OK. Can any reefers out there help me if this problem ?

thanks AT, I have been reading this forum for the last few months before I set up tank in sept, and is familiar with your "reduce and export" ways of dealing with phosphate/algae control. I have a 2.5x1.5 feet tank with 3 inch sandbed 18 kg LR and a 2ft sump; with weipro 2011 skimmer. 6 fishes and some LPS, 2 cleaner shrimps and 2 turbo snails. Use of contraphos and seachem matrix. I am quite careful with my feeding and does water change regularly. Is there anything I can do or add any invert to get rid of the algae on the sandbed as its is looking quite brown or is it normal and will the browness go away after few more months.

hi friends I noticed that diatom/algaen started to appear on the front edges of my DSB surface and started spreading inwards last few days. I also notice patches of cyno started to appear below the surface of the sandbed ( can be seen though the glass looking at the side of DSB). I have changed 20 pct water last week and this week . Does too much light cause algae growth? I am using 4 tubes T5 on 12 hours a day. Or cud it be not enough water circulation within the tank. Those on the glass can be cleaned off easily. What about algae on the sandbed and cyno beneath the sandbed? Any solutions please?

Thanks Morgan Mine is 2 ft tank with 2x24w t5, temp around 27-28 deg( no chiller). Is 20 pct water change every 2 weeks good enough. So what you are saying adding things like reef buffer/builder is redundant if you do reg water change. I think there are many reefer out there dose kalk, is that really important? :thanks
