i was at AM today.. saw the one you're talking about.. left with one big rock... -
if pellets doesnt work, try frozen food...

i always use food to try and trap them.. my fishes hide in the rocks at night (except the clownfishes), so quite hard to get them... i used those mini "fish tank" that we used to store our fishes in primary school.. minus the terrapins.. haha.. placed henry's food in there.. and i'll leave it with just the cover open.. once a fish swims in, i believe quite hard for him to swim upwards.. but this methods requires good luck and timing.. **apologise for the blur pic, just took it from google..

dude... u should post it in the right section.. in fact this might not have the fastest response as quite a number of new threads move by the minute.. i bought my NLS either from Petmart or ReefDepot.. initially my FA wouldnt feed.. but after Day3-4, it finally ate.. not sure if its the pellets like what 91Litres said, but yea i'm also using NLS.. try trapping it and placing it into a QT, once its feeding for a few days then release it.. thats what i did.. all the best to your FA..

cleaned my sand today, removed all the "big stones"... cleaned the algae off the glass, didnt miss an inch.. and finally did WC... tank looks more pleasing to the eye.. feeling more positive now.. only problem left is, some brown stuff still on my LRs.. hopefully it'll just go off over time..

whenever it trips, its never the small circuit breakers.. its always the main circuit breakers.. sometimes, its the circuit board outside my house.. you know HDB flats, they've this meter thing that runs, there's actually a switch above.. we were told to check that if it trips.. i understand that once it trips, you just have to switch it on, and it'll come on immediately.. but most of the time, the switch would be quite hot.. have to wait a few mins, before we can push the switch up again.. its kinda worrying... esp when no one can do anything abt it.. now that you guys mentioned, most likely suspect is the aircon.. but it doesnt trip immediately.. the aircon would have been running for about 3-4hrs, around 1am++ it'll trip.. and wierdly, its always around that time... i'll wait and see.. another blackout should happen again during the week...

LaW: Biopellet placed in on the 15th of March... agree with you, maybe i should just stop editing here and there.. let the tank settle down, and take it from there.. bugattilambo: adding a valve would be a great idea! why didnt i think of that... comycus: agree.. i know i'll definately regret once i decommed... maybe less than a month later, i'll come back to this.. Justin: hopefully around the 15th of April i'll see some results ever since the rise in NO3 and PO4, i've been feeding my fishes to the minimum... all fat enough already, esp my royal gramma, round and fat... Jacky: come to think of it, yea.. its laziness on my part... if i can mainatain my tank when i just started, why not now? like what comycus said, i'll definately regret once i decom.. thanks for the advice on every point that i made now i've to reduce my feedings, harden my heart and remove some fishes, and get those N-P down... AhSiang: agreed! always spend like few mins on his display tanks before i even walk in and take a look at his other LS.. **once again, appreciate all the comments that you've given me.. i just need someone else to say it in my face.. haha.. shall slowly come back, and hopefully my tank would be up soon... i've no regrets taking up this hobby, and i dont think i'll ever have any in the future..

i've witnessed the tangs at ranchuboy's place...

thanks for all the advice! the next time it trips, i'll try to look at the switches carefully.. all the jargons that you guys are using, i've to slowly read the posts again.. haha... the aircon at my place is those portable kind.. one in every room.. so they're each connected to one powerpoint.. that shouldnt be a problem right? then again, it could be my chiller.. (2nd hand) i've to monitor again the next time it trips.. thanks alot once again for the advice guys

yes.. doesnt happen to others.. my mum kept saying because of high electricity consumption, but i believe those staying in big houses/exec would have a higher consumption.. i'm staying in a 5room flat.. and the blackout occurs when most of the lights are off.. only my tank pumps are running, air cons in the rooms are running.. and maybe sometimes the TV... =/

have been feeling rather down these days.. i thought the change in "pipings" would make my tank better, but things are starting to fall apart.. 1) microbubbles started to fill my whole tank (problem solved) 2) main return pump too strong, initial plan was to connect the pump to the chiller, pass UV and back to the main tank. Iwarna came, gave me an idea to run the main pump straight back into the main tank, and provided me another weaker pump for my chiller and UV.. so this particular main pump that i've been using all these while, suddenly became abit too strong for my tank... 3) due to many projects and assignments commitments, didnt do WC for about a month.. (finally did it on sunday).. brown diatoms starts to appear on some part of my sand.. NO3 at 50ppm, PO4 just went down to 0 after my addition of rowa last week... neglect neglect neglect... 4) collected some black sand from a reefer.. due to my laziness, dump the whole sand into my tank at night when the lights were out... RESULT: many "large" pieces of stone all over the sand bed.. so many and too many to remove...am still doing it slowly once inawhile... the fine sand settled down, but there were too many "large" pieces around... just thinking about removing all of it made me feel so tired and regretful that i actually just dump everything in that night.. 5) want to reduce my bioload badly.. gf loves blue tang and pair of true percs, dad loves yellow tang, i love my black clowns, flame angel and mandrain fish, purple firefish had been with me since Day 1 (sentimental value), very reluctant to sell my royal gramma.. headache headache headache.. 6) impatienly waiting for the NP-biopellets to work, but still no sign of improvement.. 7) thought of decomming the whole thing, but everyone told me to just stay on after all the time and money that i've spent on this hobby.. 8) i seem to be worrying more about my NO3, PO4, fishes, corals, more than enjoying them... 9) due to the recent changes, water parameters have been swinging quite abit.. one of my black clown died this morning extremely upset.. now the other one is all alone.. 10) on the bright side, corals seemed to be doing well except for one colony of zoa and one lobo... sometimes i tell myself, how i wish i can be free from all the maintanance, and just sit in front of my tank for an hour just staring at the fishes and corals, mini-mother nature at home...
