  1. yesss.. very attracted to their colours.. only worry is of them being an ich magnet... always wanted the challenge of keeping them, but i cant do it in my previous 2ft cube.. Thank you!!! hope they will survive long.. ich seem to be under control for now.... white spots appeared on the fins on the 2nd day... but thereafter seem to be gone... have to build up their immunity before i introduce more fishes to compete food with them... haha..
  2. Thank you Thank you! i just hope they will do well in my tank... yes i'm crossing everything i have too >.< so far so good... haha..
  3. nope.. introduced them together... so far no problems at all... in fact they're swimming like a pair.. haha.. yes i got them from CF.. made sure both were feeding before i took them home... there was a smaller powder blue with stunning colours, sadly didnt budge when the pellets i threw fell infront of him... nope.. all along wanted to keep a FOWLR tank, with a few simple corals here and there... i hope the powder blue would only be notorious towards tangs, and not bully the small ones.. if things however turn really bad i've always a space in my sump ready to house him until he "cools down".. haha..
  4. added 2 fishes from CF.. 01x Powder Blue Tang 01x Powder Brown Tang a few Nassarius Snails 1 more from LCK 01x NeonGoby i still have a few of my LS at a friend's place... Ah Siang your LS is also at my friend's place... dont worry didnt disappear

  15. you can give Atlantic Glass a try if you're just looking for a tank (without cabinet), many reefers recommended me this shop, value for money. its located just beside GO 482 Up Serangoon Rd Singapore 534516
  16. anyone knows how to 'tune' a skimmer to ensure it performs most efficiently? i just randomly adjusted the air intake to a point when the skimmer doesnt 'overskim' until the collection cup overflows. is that the right way?
  17. Skimmer at work i've since turned it off during this cycling period. Lights up.. thinking of adding more rocks to make the scape higher, but i'm quite reluctant to 'disturb' the current scape Day 1 of Cycling: 09 May 2011 the start of 3-4 weeks of mental torture..
  18. just to play safe, i've decided to get a longer pipe for my skimmer so that the output will not be fully submerged.. Chilling time improved significantly after i removed the UV.. the reason why i placed the UV after the chiller cos it'll be quite pointless for the chilled water to enter the UV and get 'heated' up again... i've not sat down to really time how long does it take to chill down 1 degree, but the situation seemed to be improving... as for the heat, i guess i've to live with it.. still cracking my head hard if i should replace my chiller with a compressor.. the biggest problem is the location of where i can place it.. is it "user friendly" to hook it up? haha.. i'll monitor the chiller's performance and i'll see how.. thanks for offering.. i've removed the UV.. the performance of the chiller seem to have improved. PM you..
  19. thanks dude for the recommendation! i'm looking around for a supplier for distilled water.. almost signed up with Arees.. i'm actually fine with the price, i just dont like the 1year contract that they tie you down with... should be calling him tomorrow to arrange..
  20. i think it wont be easy to hold the colours
  21. some questions i have... 1) can the skimmer output be fully submerged under water? will it affect the performance in anyway? 2) i turned on my chiller (Resun CL650) at about 6pm yesterday... temperature was around 34degrees.. at 10pm, managed to only chill down to 30 degrees... i kept it on until 12am, but it remained at 30degrees... if im not wrong this chiller should be powerful enough to chill a 4x2x2 tank... considering getting an external temp controller, heading down to Sim Lim later to take a look... 3) i linked another pump, to the UV first before entering the chiller... the pump has a flowrate of 1800L... i understand its too powerful for my UV to be effective... and yes i do have a spare seperate pump that is slower for the UV... but if its possible to link up both in one pump, wouldnt it help me in saving electricity, more effecient this way? 4) temperature in my cabinet is very high.. i feel the heat when i open the cabinet.. i believe it is the chiller's (outside the cabinet) hot air that is entering the cabinet thru a hole at the back... advisable to place a mini fan inside the cabinet to blow the hot air out? sigh..
  22. problems with tank more or less settled... now facing problems with linking up my own equipments.. trying to figure out the best way i can link everything up..
