Bro That was only a one off isolated case according to Iwarna. I was the first one to procure a unit and cannot ask for more as Vertex skimmer are OEM from the venerable Bubble King series from Royal Exclusiv ! Highly recommended !

Been using it for quite a while already - Great Product - Lab Grade ! Potent stuff ! It doesnt need a lot of it to get the job done - just follow the recommended dosage will suffice . Best Carbon ive used thus far ! Highly recommended !

Bro ! recommended level is 7.5" to 8" but the operating water level is actually from 7" to 9". Currently my sump water level is between 9 to 9.5" and operating fine tho. The following are the impt things to take note: 1) Running-in period of 24 hours with the red Riser tube CLOSED ( no output flow frm Skimmer ) and Skimmer cup OFF, this incidentally will reduce your run-in period. 2)After 24 hours, turn off the skimmer and open up the Riser tube 100% and screw the collection cup back on. Thereafter turn the skimmer back on and allow water to go thru the skimmer ( it will overflow-no issue at all ) and u may want to uncover the plug on the skimmer cup drain tube to allow the overflow to drain off into yr sump and it is recommended to let it run in this fashion for another hour or more ( I let it run for ard 3 hours ) Rational behind is to actually allow the skimmer internal body to be coated with a layer to facilitate the foam production and adhesion. 3) Lastly adjust the skimmer via the Riser tube to yr desired foam level within the skimmer. ( I tuned my foam level to just below the neck to obtain a dry skimate ) Hope this help. Following the run-in guidelines to the T will reaped rewards of the skimmer performing optimally.

Bro Yr KH will come down surely and eventually as yr corals and stuff consume and grow albeit water change is another viable way out but most imptly it is the essence of being able to keep all our parameters stable that will determine our long term success. Hope that helps.

Bro Yr dKH seems to be on the high side ( generally keep it betw 7-9 wld be fine ) As for the amt of rocks , on retrospect, personally i reckoned u can in fact be able to stack up another level for both Twin Towers to facilitate future placement for those light loving corals such as Sps ( if u're going over to the Dark side ! )

Gd sharing n feedback ! I reckoned that since it's one of the known Mfg issue, guessed it will be good for all potential buyers to do a dry fit check on the spot prior to bringing our new toy home, saved the hassle of bringing it back for exchange thereafter.

Alternatively, if u need some advice on yr 2ft piping setup, u can always approach me and I will try to help as I hv been doing up all my own piping works thru the yrs from Big to small tank - I did it all ! Not a surprise as most of Vertex skimmer are OEM frm Bubble King ! and its only a recent corporate move that they start to divert away frm utilizing BK pumps for their skimmer !

Bro seems frm the pic it look like the entry hole on the skimmer body for the pump to skimmer interface tube may be slightly out (higher) - evident frm yr 2nd & 3rd pic with the skimmer base skewed to one side. Guessed it wld be best to bring the unit back to Iwarna - Philip to hv the skimmer replaced as its still under warranty.
