That particular sand a bit special. Nice as got sparking effect. Not nice as has magnetic properties. Will stick to magnet glass cleaner. I know as i also have 2 pack of that inside my tank. My substrate is made up of 2x20lb bag of natures ocean life Aragonite black sand, 2x5kg of irwana volcanic sand and 2x20lb of Caribsea Aragalive Indopacific Black on top, added in that particular order also. So end result, top looks white.

Guess my advice is top up 1 or 2 tao hui tub a day. I did 1 whole bag of live sand 20lb a day and the result, not good at all. But about sandbed alot of brown stuff, best is stir your sand bed periodically or get some sand shifting star. I warn u first, I noob ah...you might want to consult other more experience member.
