Hi i would like to sell the following; 1) 2 inch brown tang - $10, reason for selling is because it fight with my yellow tang, maybe my tank is too small to accomodate them together. 2) Sand dollar - $10, have 3 in my tank, want to sell away one coz i think 2 is sufficient for my tank, they are doing a good job by clearing the diatom on my sand. The brown tang is currently in the betta box, it is still eating well, want to sell away quickly to prevent further stress on it. Collection at near pioneer mrt, interested pls sms at 96649868.

yup..my tank is 3ft.....i cycled with the LR and sand for 3 weeks...what i mean is i din add anymore LR during cycling period... Now all the fishes all feeding well...... wat brand of test kits that give more acurate result?... the test kit brang i am currently using are: KH - tetra NH4 - API NO2 - red sea NO3 - API PO4 - API Now i am feeding the fish once a day...usually you guys feed how many times a day? currently i keep my brown tang in the betta box coz it chase the yellow tang tat i added...both are same size...should i release the brown tang back? will they fight again? or i should sell away one just in case they fight again?

hi all bros, thanks for all the advice! Currently having 2 true percula clown, 1 yellow tang, 1 brown tang and 2 blue tang at my tank...my water parameter all fine. NH4 and NO2 zero, nitrate around 5PPM, PH 8.4 KH 9. Today i found that the blue tang (which went missing) is stuck in between 2 glasses at overflow, the gap is so thin that only blue tang can get in ....wondering how it can get in and stuck there coz i use all the PVC wire mesh for fencing...manage to pull it out, it looks shocked but still eating... but the 2 blue tangs doesnt swim too much, whenever got ppl walk pass the tank, they will "zoom" and hide behind the rocks....wondering my rocks formation not good for them or not...coz quite a big empty space at the center... My tank is close to 2 months old..all fishes r eating well...my cycling took 3 weeks....added a prawn to speed up nitrogen process and used NSW and dose bacteria weekly ...never added any LS/LR during cycling....only add LS when i check that the NH4, NO2 back to zero..... So far, the parameters looks ok, i will keep monitoring again....now i m wondering whether my rocks are enuff or not....coz i see all the LFS's tank r packed with rocks and the their fishes can swim happily in between rocks... There's quite a lot of empty space at the front of the tank, purposely leave it empty so that fishes can swim there ...but they choose to swim at 2 side instead...haha

Hi, my fishes keep disappearing...dunno whether still alive or not? firegoby used to come out during feeding but havent seen it for 3 days...blue tang was eating well yesterday but today also gone missing...wondering whether still alive?? My yellow tang also went missing last time and i found it hiding behind the rocks (at a gap between the rock and my tank's wall), its tail and fin was torn and doesn't looks heathly. This time I suspect my blue tang is also hiding there or already dead. Are all the fishes that sick or dying always went hiding and preparing to die in the secluded area? I am thinking to buy some coral chips to fill out the gap between the rocks and tank's wall so that the fish can't hide and die inside? I am still puzzling why the fish which is still feeding and looks heathly (althought got a bit of white spot) gone missing suddenly? could it be some worm hiding inside my tank and attack the fish at night? Anyone who has the experience? Can share?

Any other places got small size yellow tangs other than sealife? -
Yo bro, just want to check how to manage to cure the white spot on your tang?..i have 2 blue tang, had white spot last week but still eating, feed them with mysis shrimp soaked with garlic guard...the white spot initially gone... however, it came back again today..but the blue tang still chasing after food...they really eat alot....always nip at the red bamboo.. should i dose medicine? if yes, any recommendation? my tank is just 1 and half months old, without any coral yet....
-
Thanks bro... measure my NO3 yesterday..it was zero..will get AZ NO3 to control nitrate if it shoot up... has been feeding my livestock with mysis shrimp soak with garlic....white spot on blue tangs has disappeared....they r doing ok at the moment, chasing for food... guess i will just leave them as it is...will dose medicine if necessary... wat water do u all use to top up/change water? i m using the crystal pro single stage for filtering...TDS read 0ppm 2 weeks ago...but now it increase to ard 40ppm..thought the resin can last for 2 to 3 months? i run very slowly ..should i remove the resin while not in use to extend its life span?

How can i quarantine the new fish? currently i have one 1 and half ft tank....will it be too small for quarantine tangs and induce more stress on them? What is the better way of control NO3?....de-nitrator or dose AZ-NO3?
-
plan for the reef tank...will add coral at later stage...yah you are right..the 2 blue tangs are having white spot...but they are still chasing for food....should i just leave them like tat?...i soak the food with garlic liquid..heard it is good to build up fish's immune system....

Hi, I would like to know what should be the freqeuncy of adding new fish, read online that guideline is about 1 or 2 fish per week....provided NH4 and NO2 are zero before adding new fish..is it true? I have added 2 cleaner shrimp, 2 clown and 2 blue tang over the past 2 week...is it too much? how many fishes can i keep inside my 3x2x2 tank? is there a standard guide?...for example, inchesof fish/square litre...
-
Hi, yup tested the NO2 and NH4 zero and transfer 2 prawn and 1 true clown from my nano tank....added 2 blue tang and one true clown one week later... looks like there is white spot on the blue tang...but it is still eating...should i dose any medicine? Btw, how do i know how many fishes i can keep in my 3x2x2 tank? any guidelines?

wow..impressive explanation about PH, KH and alkanity....thank bro! But my PH now is slightly higher at 8.6, what should I do to reduce it? Or i just leave it as it is since after the buffer has been consumed which result in drop in dK, the PH will drop? Am I right to say it?
-
Thanks for all the inputs! Will look for the AZ NO3 solution when my NO3 level out of range.

Hi, Just got a crystal plus DI unit to filter my tap water, the PH for the tap water is about 9. I think it is too high for the marine tank right? Mixing the water with Tropic Marine Salt, will the PH reduce after mixing? I measure the tank PH, it is about 8.6, maybe due to topping of water which cause the PH to rise (previously was about 8.3). What should I do to reduce the PH? Should I reduce it before pouring the newly mixed water to the tank or after? I am abit confused about the relationship between PH, KH and alkanity. Can I say that raising the PH will cause the rise in KH and alkanity? I bought the Kent Marine Pro-buffer to raise the dKH level, will it increase the PH level as well? Saw seachem brand the PH buffer and reef builder (for KH) so I am a bit confused on the actual usage. Need all your input on the above mentioned......

Thanks..... Will do a 20% change this weekend then transfer my cleaner shrimp from my existing tank... Does activated carbon help to reduce NH4? I threw in a market prawn on day 3 of my cycling, NH4 read 1PPM pn day 5, added activated carbon on day 6... NH4 drop to 0 on day 7.... Think of keeping a pair of true percula clown, already have a in my small tank (not transferred to my 3 ft tank yet), should i get a big or small one to pair up? The true percula clown is quite aggressive towards its own species, it is "heng1 shui1" whether they can be pair up succefully...anhy secret recipe to pair them up? hee......
