Hi all, Would like to ask if Resun CL450 chiller is good enough for a 3x2x2 tank? I have the below items: 1. 3ft T5, 4x39W 2. Main pump - 45W (supposed to generate some heat) Initially, it is able to cool down to 26.5 deg C. However, I have just added my algae scrubber unit yesterday which consist of the followings: 1. 2ft T5, 2x24W - 2 sets (placed very near to the algae scrubber which induce some heat) 2. pump - 60W (supposed to generate some heat) My chiller seems like not able to bring the temperature down. It stucks at 27.7 deg C. Note: chiller cut in at 27.5 deg C but tank tempeture still keep rising up to 27.7 deg C. Is my chiller under power?

brown powder algae on sand bed
enseng replied to ashaegyee's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Yes..same as e picture..how to get rid of this?I have brown algae on rocks too.. -
Updates: My RBTA is still surviving but the tentacles are not extended as long as previously. It became short ...and color also not as bright...feel that it became smaller.. What could be the reasons? I feed it once every 3 days...It is because it is sick? but it is still eating...or could it becoz of the lighting? I am using 4x39W T5 lights for my 3 ft tank....but didn't change the bulb for one year already....

Hi, would like to know if anyone has experience on keeping Emperor angel and supersun coral together? Will the emperor nip at the supersun or sun coral? How long will the juvenile turn to adult or it will never change? It is fine to keep both emperor and RBTA together?

brown powder algae on sand bed
enseng replied to ashaegyee's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Hi, my tank is already 1 years old but I am still experiencing the blown algae in my sandbed and rocks. What could be the reason? -
Yes I have a sump. Might be getting Reef Octopus NW 110 or NW150 Skimmer. Is it good enough for a 3ft tank? I am actually getting in the algae scrubber which supposedly bring down the nitrate level effectively. Will monitor the result, then I will drop the idea of getting the skimmer coz already have a lower end skimmer in my sump.. Thanks all for sharing the information!

Ok, noted. Thanks for sharing!

Upz for u bro! Recently had a Nitrate shoot up.will wait for it to settle down and stable before I get the frag from u! I am impressed by ur sps tank! All nice and healthy! Upz!!

Hi bros, It doesn't open as big as previously but it is still eating. Whenever I feed it with Henry food or brine shrimp, it will still grab. From the way I look at it, its foot still attached firmly (didn't touch it though) to the rocks. It is just that it doesn't open very big, on and off closed up, and the frequency of close up is increasing. My clown seldom play with it now, only when the light is off then the clown will just sleep inside. Is it dying or sick?

Hi my rose anemone isn't look good these few days...attached is the picture of it with the gaping mouth..there is a seaweedlike stuff coming out from its mouth. was it its poo or something else? My true clown and yellow tang seems like enjoy eating it...
-
Yes, the cloudiness already disappear this morning...lots of foam generated at my skimmer...thanks!
-
Hi angel fish, Do you mind taking a photo on the setup of your Chaeto system? Do you grow it at the refugium?
-
So it is good to observe the cloudiness after dosing bacteria as it is activated? The cloudy water is waste water? my water is getting clear but still abit cloudy...my skimmer is the cheapo type...can it be compensate using algae scrubber?
-
Hi all, Will Biopellet make the water become very cloudly? I have shifted my Biopellet from 1st compartment of the sump to the Skimz FM100 fluid reactor, input pump at 550L/H max and dose bacteria yesterday. 12 hours later, the water still clear but it become very cloudly this morning. Is it because the flow rate of the pump is too high or bacteria activation which cause the water to become cloudly? Need advice pls...
