looking for any small frags that you guys might have, preferably collectable in the east please be kind and not sell me precious or rare frags, the simpler and more common the better! i've been reading and it seems like monti's (said to be indestructable ), bird nests, hydnoporas, poccis so would be looking for something across those lines. i'm quite surprised that acros arent listed though. my lightings are only 4x24w T5 (ATI) w/ individual reflectors, hopefully it'd be enough to sustain these light hungry corals. do pm me or sms me at 98326054 for you have something for me thank you

up for you bro! i was wondering what a Mexican fireleg is until i searched on google

thanks for all your inputs guys! thats what i did initially. kept the coral beauty in a betta box for a week. both the flame and coral beauty didn't seem to be bothered about each other so after that week i released the coral beauty. first few days was still okay except both fishes were obviously staying out of each others way. then came the day where the coral beauty decided it was boss after which the coral beauty went into confinement, again and i took the chance to slightly re-arrange the rockscape (i didn't want to change it entirely cause i love the way it is now). round two of coral beauty vs flame showed the coral beauty winning for the second time *sigh* the poor flame was chased until it was hiding in the cave housed by my royal gramma. maybe it was because of the size difference. in the past i tried a smaller coral beauty which unfortunately was no match for the flame of the same size. now its the other way round.

just to add it has been reef safe in my tank which holds various lps and soft corals

letting go my coral beauty ~2.5" fat with brilliant coloration. pity it couldn't get along with my flame angel if not i'd have definitely kept it going at only $12 viewing and collection is at tampines thank you

WTS: Small Pieces of LR, Grade 0 White Sand
straydum replied to straydum's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
thank you bro ups for myself -
selling off small pieces of live rock, enough to fill up half a pail. sizes ranges from 2" to 6". all taken from my main display and sump thus no cooking required. there may be a few slightly larger than small (medium) pieces inside. the rocks are currently held in a pail with tank water and an air pump hooked up so it should be able to remain 'live' for quite awhile selling ALL rocks at only $10 also letting go grade 0 white sand (dry and un-used) at $1/kg. you're free to decide how much you want! buyers please bring along your own containers or bags to hold the rocks for your transportation. collection is at tampines thank you

sold. thank you all for your interest

i just tried that and it works! thanks fuel was initially afraid that it wouldn't be strong enough cause my return already goes to the tank, chiller, and now the reactor
-
imo one of the more uncommon dottybacks. very healthy specimen that i'm letting go cause it has been really harsh on my royal gramma very interesting and curious fish. will keep looking up at you if you're looking down into the tank from the top. picture from taken from the web going at only $12 collection and viewing is at tampines thank you!

i've been thinking of having a small pump to power my phosphate reactor and managed to dig out a boyu submersible from my store. the ratings are as follows, BOYU submersible pump SP-700 5W 230 l/h to test the heat it gives out, i placed the tiny pump in a mug and ran it for about 2 hours, together with a thermometer. its rather shocking that the final reading the thermometer showed was 36 degrees! i understand that the higher wattage the pump is rated, it would generally give off more heat but to 36 degrees is wayyy to high.although i do run a chiller, i don't wish for such a tiny pump to be putting off that much heat. reading up on RC lead me to understand that it is due to the inefficiency of the pump that leads to the heat. basically, a pump running 10w but only utilizing 5w worth of energy to push water would mean the remaining 5w would equate to heat, sound, and movement (vibrations) just checking with everyone here for a recommendation on a pump which is not powerful and won't put in that much heat into the water? i'm considering between an Eheim 300 Compact Pump (150-300 l/h), a Hydor Pico Evolution 200 Pump (270 l/h) and a Tunze 5024.04 Universal pump Mini (150-300 l/h). hopefully someone could shed light on to which pump would give off the least heat and just wondering, is there any difference with a Eheim 300 Compact Pump and a Eheim 1046 Universal Pump (except that one runs internal and the other both internal and external)? both pulls the same wattage and flow but the price difference is huge! thank you

Weekly Update - 14th to 20th June 10
straydum replied to pokmingsheng's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
anyone knows the prices for duncans at LCK? saw the yashas at pinnacle, left less than 10 i think. but most of them are feeding on pellets (which surprised me) although not aggressively! very tempting -
wow very nice tank set with healthy corals and done without a chiller? choice of equipments are also really good i must say! can i ask if your wave makers are on any timers/controllers?
